Tips for increasing Hull Capacity/Resistance?
Keeping things short, I find myself taking ridiculous amounts of hull damage during Elite Missions, even with Fleet Neutronium Consoles and BOFF Hull Heal abilities. The damage usually goes straight through my shields, which have been the main focus on my build since I started, and since I'm flying an Escort a single torpedo is usually enough to destroy my ship outright. I've considered the Aquarius just for the Universal seats for more Engineer BOFFs.

Excluding switching to a more durable ship, is there a way to not get instantly exploded by a barrage of transphasic torpedoes? I know there isn't some item that'll magically acheive this, and I am prepared to overhaul my entire build if I need to.

In case it matters, I'm a relatively new Level 65 with a T5 Defiant with all three Hull Capacity Skills purchased.
Notable items include:
-4x Sensor-Linked Phaser Cannons Mk XV
-3x (Epic) Fleet Neutronium Alloy MK XV [Turn]
-Aegis Impulse Engines Mk XIII
-Regenerative Crystal Shield Matrix Mk XV (that auto-balance thing from the STD missions)
-Neutrino Deflector Array Mk XIV

What is your Primary and Secondary Skill packages are you running?
Meaning Strategist, Command, Intel, Temporal, Pilot, Miracle Worker etc are you using..

Picking certain ones have Pros and Cons compared to others...

One example is Strategist (A Secondary only Skill set)
one of the skill it has is called Layered Defense II, which gives you Immunity to damage from Torpedo impacts. which is a passive skill that triggers when struck with a torpedo.. Fully upgraded lets you you ignore one every 30 seconds..

Myself I run Intel/Strat in space and Intel/Commando for ground..

I'd suggest that you take a look at Miracle Worker and Strategist skill sets for helping with the issue you've been having...

Something else is using skills/traits that lower your threat level so the enemy fire at other targets before you..

Also get yourself the "House Martok Defensive Configuration" console.. It's part of a 3 piece set which favors Disruptors... but the console alone is much worth the Engineer slot it takes..
You can get from running the Brushfire mission..

Oh one last thing FYI
Sensor-Linked weapons are best used if you have a high Crit chance as they increase your Crit damage... For your issue of trying to stay alive etc etc, Integrity-Linked weapons would be the type i'd say that you'd want to be using as they add ship HP and HP recovering speeds.. You can boost your ship's Defensive Maneuvering in other more efficient ways then using Sensor-Linked weapons..

It's also worth noting that if you're on a bit of a budget, the new Disco rep has a random console drop that boosts your HP.

Several consoles raise hull as a passive effect, try those or pick the traits that do it.

@Maj_Cyric Thanks for the great tips.

NP... Always willing to help those who are interested in improving themselves/game... It can only make the game better over all for everyone else right?

Here is an Integrity-Linked weapon

Here is the Martok Defensive console

Another linked type you might wanna keep your eyes out for are the Resilience-Linked, they are Terran-Linked "equivalent" to Integrity-Linked in its linked set type. (Some people will list things way under market rate making it a steal for anyone seeing/buying them first)

When it comes to the "defensive" Linked weapons, I tend to only run 2 to 3 out of the 8 slots for little beefiness, the rest are Sensor/Targeting

Some decent advice, thanks!

Just to answer some questions:
Nearly all of my weapons also have at least one CrtD mod to increase the damage during Probability Manipulation. I also put two skill points into Crit damage.

-Pilot Primary, Intel Secondary, both with all Space upgrades purchased

-Honored Dead, Layered Shielding, Pedal to the Metal, and Punch It! (I haven't bought a fifth trait slot yet...)

-Advanced Engines, Armor Pen, Shield Pen, and Energy Refrequencer from the Reputation system

My Space skill tree layout is this..
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1743648624

But keep in mind that 1. This skill tree is for the set i'm using (3 piece Iconian with Rom impulse) in the T6 Fleet Mogh...
How well it would work for another set with different passives I don't know.. and 2. I've used this skill build since 2015 when the Iconian set was introduced...
My build was shared by a old friend who was a also KDF Tactical driving a Kurak (The Mogh's brother) who enlightened me that a pure dakdak-pewpew build has a better damage output as well survival (has to deal with every console supporting the beams or cannons, where if a torp was taking a slot, the damage mag consoles aren't gonna help with damage for the torpedo, and that it was better to focused in a single system for the most bonuses for them) I haven't used torps since then (although i still have it in my inventory to this day for some reason)

As far as Traits go.. a few get rotated in and out based on the ship i'm driving or where/what i'm doing..

But mostly I run things with these

--Personal Space Traits
A Good day to die
Last Ditch Effort
Context is for Kings
Duelist's Fervor
Beam Barrage
Superior Beam Training
Point Blank Shot
Fluidic Cocoon
Inspirational Leader
Fleet Coordinator

--Starship Traits
Reciprocity
Superior Area Denial
Supremacy
All Hands on Deck
Preferential Targeting

Also another area that is also important is what and who you are using as your BOFFs and DOFFs.. I use a mix Krenim (for Boff skill cooldowns) and K-13 (for ship stat boosts) as well as a unique borg and K-13 Android.. and for Doffs, i swap out 1 space based on the intended enemy, i run 3 Tech's for Aux2Batt, 1 Conn for for tactical team CD, and 1 Fab Eng for added time to Reverse Shield Polarity..
