Character Voices?

In the start of the game I can hear the character's speak there dialog and now I can't, How do I fix this?

Im new to the game but I think that only some dialog is spoken A.K.A not all things are said such as your ships name even though its in the dialog.

Your name and ship name are not said cause they cant get the voice actor to say absolutley every possible thing you name yourself or ship :)

That and not all the dialog is even voiced. This is mostly the case with old missions that haven't been revamped yet. More recent missions tend to have everything voiced though.

They could fix this! Just get Microsoft Sam to voice every character in the game.

In the character creator, they could have preset voices like in saints row. That way your crew can have voices that are voiced by different actors. Things like Vulcan Female for T'Vrell or Saurian Male for Kolez.

Except the voice actors for STO are generally those who work on Champions Online... so Star Trek captains and aliens are sharing voices with Heroes and Villains, and sometimes you can easily tell who it is.

In general there is a LOT of text that is not voiced. Your crew for example, which will likely never change. How would they know your Bridge Crew sounded? It would require lots and lots of voices and lots and lots of options (like changing pitch) Your 'bridge crew' tend to say "Captain the bla bla bla is doing bla bla in the bla bla sector" etc, and so this is how a lot of the story progresses. None of this (except the romulan bridge officer you are forced to use for 20 levels) uses any voices. It would be a nice touch though.

Nothing is broken, it's because they were too lazy to put in voice actors for every single NPC.

Seriously... have you heard the STO crew's voices? They aren't talented voice actors. "A Falchion Warbird is Escaping" I cring when I hear this chicks voice. It's so... not great. Also the main "human" they get is Defender of Champions Online whose voice booms like a super hero... even in STO
