That doesn't matter. If you say it is pay to win or not.

you might get your account hijacked from that third party website, and yeah PWI is watching out for that too. Whatever it says in the Terms of Service and the other legal docs goes. Now there are some websites that sell promo codes for ships or giveaway reward codes, those are legit and safe.

Cryptic is checking and logging the chat and have a specific tailored "spech filter" with a word list. It not only prohibits you using swear words in chat, but also recognizes when you try to buy/sale stuff via chat. People are getting banned permanently for selling credits on external websites and so do people buying them.

If you think of it: the game has a logfile of your character what you played and how you obtained it. If now something is in your account which you havn´t played ... gotcha.

Recommend not doing it - or if you really need to level up your gear - get Zen for $10 and exchange it into dilithium which you can use to upgrade. There are also lots of great ships on the exchange out of lobi dealers or Boxes which you can get for credits. Getting 10 mio credits ingame is not THAT difficult if you want to play the game - and that I suüüose (why else are you looking for better equipment / ships)

Oh but it does. I am rarely of the same opinion as n3mes1s, but he has more than a point here.

Your question makes no sense that way.

But yeah, Running-Target already had the best answer, so there you go.
You can get tanked for breaching the ToS, Pay to Win or not.

LOL go home kid, everything you can buy can be grinded with time (that's how MMO's work)

Farm some dilithium - trade it for Zen, Or spend £25 and buy the zen you need. With games like this you know darn well you may have to either farm yourself silly or put your hand in your pocket at some point. They didnt make the game for us to play out of love its business.

Not p2w (implies there is something that can only be bought). Pay to "get-it-right-now" for sure, but even in that case the very best stuff cannot be bought, only grinded (reputation and fleet gear).

Pay-To-Win in this game is enormous,
but this is no real annoyance anymore except if you want to play on elite or pvp.

With same amount of time spent, a paying player will always have better and more stuff, for DPS and counter. Otherwise, there would be no reason to buy anything for such a low quality game.

fleet gear is expensive and you forgot traits/boffs/doffs/lobi/lockbox/upgrade/slots. You can't grind fast enough to be par with paid stuff.

Everyone knows, the "all is grindable" argument is just a smokescreen. You need years to get the very best stuff of today. And it's already outdated by the time you buy it because of powercreep.

There are only a few games out there, that are free and not pay-to-win like Dota2. All you can buy is cosmetics/ visuals/ sounds.

Not particularly expensive I'd say. I'd estimate on average 50k FC and 10000 DIL (varies of course), in comparison with the craziest exchange crafted which are in the 50-100 Million EC range.

But we are in agreement then, pay to skip grind. And yes it does take a loooong time to grind to get exactly what you want top tier. But is that not the whole objective of playing an MMO? What the heck else are you going to do if you already have everything maxxed, particularly in this game wher PvP is non-existent.
