OP, I also noticed I can no longer pan the camera or move about when dialog boxes pop up in addition to being more or less locked in the direction I was previously traveling.
Without those people you wouldn't even have a game to ♥♥♥♥♥ and moan about.
You sound like you didn't get in very far for those apparent horrible things that turn you off - Fair enough, MMOs are not for everyone, and neither is STO.
How you can "advise" others not to spend any money though is beyond me.
#2 Check the options menu, there's one in there somewhere to disable the pop ups
#3 Check options, there is an auto loot there somewhere

#4 check #2
#5 that's what the loadouts system was designed to counter/fix, I personally haven't had that issue since I started using it.
#6 That I will admit can be irritating, but it's only 3 days of casual play to level cap, so not a huge issue, espically as you don't need any traits to get there.
#7 Bonus has always worked for me, once they did put the entire purchase on hold, but that was a problem with paypal and the bank. The only reason I can think of that you wouldn't get the bonus zen is if you bought through the steam wallet, I remember reading somewhere that they couldn't give bonuses that way for some reason I don't remember.
welll, been trying for a while to come up with a polite way to say it, but you can still get to the level cap with just the starter ship, takes a while sure, but still doable, a T5-U is just as good as any T6, the only thing it lacks is the trait you get for hitting lvl 5 with the ship.
(PS. even though I own a few of the T6s I still fly my Nandi, while it may be fragile on advanced/elite, it has the largest amount of officer seating I've seen in any factions ships, and if I could be bothered to MK XIV gold the gear, would get better DPS then most of them.)
There could be many different reasons for that.
Does your Captain bathe regularly? Or perhaps had 'a little too much fun on Risa'? In any case, I'd highly suggest seeing your medical staff right away - they probably have some magic space soap, or some sciencey topical cream, or something like that.
**********
All jokes aside, it's probably because the player toon and the player ship share the same 'object I.D.', or whatever the correct term is. In other words: When you leave ground and go to space, the graphics and abilities for your *player character* are removed, and replaced with your *ship* graphics and ship abilities.
So, the "GOT RADS?" animation carried over from space, because apparently your engine is in your pants.
(must...keep...straight...face...)
Anyway, not that you were seriously asking that specific question, but I figured if I wanted to put my stupid first paragraph there, then I should spend just as long actually attempting to answer the question.
I'm a doctor*, not a coder. But, who knows? I may even be correct!
*I am not actually a doctor.
If you want the game shut down, you're doing a piss poor job, considering you are responsible for 50% of this board's activity, and therefore inflating its activity entirely by yourself. That means it will pop up in the activity tracker (or whatever it's offical name is) and the main community feed, which will lead to increased interest, which potentially means more people checking out the game.
Cause I mean, you might operate on insane hyperbole and nonsense, but the marketing/hype world relys on traffic, and right now, you're doing one hell of a job at making this board look more active than it really is.
Thanks dude, it makes me chuckle every time you pretend to speak for the majority when every single other person who keeps up with this board knows you're a complete fool.
Also, you really need to work on your lies, they're getting painfully transparent. I hadn't posted here in months until I saw a couple threads that caught my eye. But sure, I'm posting here 'all the time.'
And by the way, nice job contradicting yourself. If this board has no influence on STO, why do you need to be here 'keeping people away' from it?
7/10 the bait could have been better - IGN
Nemesis is right. Cryptic does not care about steam forums. Every announcement, raffle, responses is being made on official STO forum (deserted by devs), facebook, reddit, twitter.
Remeber: It's not a bug, it's a feature.
You don't like some features of the game and want the devs to know, then you got best chance on reddit.
During development, they tested fully free 3D space flight, but people got disoriented and lost. So they restricted the space to child-friendly 2.5D and now every pajama-uniform wearing Star Trek fanatic whale kid is able to fly a space ship with auto-aim and auto-fire and auto-redalert ... auto everything.
You may have noticed, most Star Trek fans are not the smartest ones.
On the tech side I realisi the basic movement is as simple as possible for younger peeps but don't forget its parent who get the game for them.
there is no problem with 3D flight as long as your settings set you visualy behind your ship with self adjustment as I quoted it works brilliiantly in the x-series.
As for the pop ups its a case of too much info in too many different places, that could be simplified with one window. auto loot is always on but docent stop the requirement to take/pickup and the two seoerate action/execution/secondary stuff is mot required. one common button could do all. the other bit was all the floaters and combat info etc that floods your chat window is a nightmare. chat is chat
anyway thanks again all
