Operation Gamma
Worst mission ever. I've never finished it... after god knows how many tries, I dont know how whoever designed that mission thought it would be "fun".

Remind me, which one is that one?
I cant get past the first part. Cannot get all the worker bees before they repair the sensors. I always target them first.... (doesnt help) I use TAB to target but the targeting is horrible and manual targeting doesnt help, the camera swings around all over the place, cant see the bastards to target them fast enough! Also the shuttle doesnt do enough damage to kill them in enough time to then target the others and kill them before they have repaired the thingy....(thats with weapons equipped to my current level - level X on it!)... over and over and over again....
I've literally tried this about 15 times, now I just skip the whole mission.

Watched some guy on Youtube do it in one take and with no problem... that was salt in the wound! Yes, I suck.

THAT mission?

You're having problems with that mission of all things?

Firstly...they aren't hard to target.

Secondly...you have enough time to target them before they repair it all (Usually they only send one)

Thirdly........do you have torpedos? Two of those do the trick.

Any player going in without torpedos or at least a high damage kinetic weapon surely has had a blow to the head.

Any player going in without torpedos has clearly regeared their shuttlecraft because those come with beam arrays and a torp by default.

Torpedos are the most effective thing against the "Worker Bees" in the mission...as few as twwo can deal with one very quickly.

Even if it's just a photon torpedo...even better if it is as they have the greatest reload time of any "torpedo" weapon I've seen.

Oh I agree with you, I'm just saying that anyone that went into that mission without a torp did so deliberately for whatever reason.

I understand you.

I just like stressing that little fact...I tend to use torpedos much more than most people do xD

Torpedos to me seem more effective thaan energy weapons in most aspects not including accuracy and attack speed...apart from that they can effectivly deal with ships that have overly strong shields...admittedly with "bug bites" but they do far better than other weapons...and they can be "upgraded" to deaal with cloaked enemies in certaain situations.

Anyway, I've said my 2 cents lol
Yep, I have torpedoes - and as I said, they are up to my level.
Its not easy to target - the camera whirls around, it seems to auto target whatever it feels like and I either hit TAB like crazy in the hope that it hits a worker bee or while the camera is whirling about i try to manually click on one.
I can get up to where they send 3 worker bees (who said they only usually send one? Have you played this mission? :P ) and then its over, by the time I have killed two the third one has fixed the sensor point and its back to the beginning.....

over and over and over and over again.

Like I said, I just skip it now - though I would have liked to have gotten the Jem Hadar gear the mission hands out!

i had the same problem, its easy to resolve. make sure u have a laser beam array or fpaser beam or whatever u have in your shuttle, and when its getting busy rellease one, they also shoot the bee,s . i hope this works for u
Liszt2008 Sep 9, 2016 @ 1:29pm
i mean not a normal weapon, but those turrets u can release while flying and they automatic fires on nearby enemys. u can get them by doing a duty officer assignment, cost u 50.000 ec but u get 10 or 20 such deployable turrets
Liszt2008 Sep 9, 2016 @ 1:30pm
u can use them in your shuttle

Tried that :P (make that Ive now tried the mission 17 times... ) still didnt work. As usual, got to the part where there is 3, and by the third one couldnt kill it in time and the whole thing reset... again.
Yes, I probably just do suck...

but i f***ing hate this mission.

Dunno, the last time i played that mission was 2 months ago and i didnt have problems at all. When a workbee appears i go directly to destroy him. As i said a high yield torp will almost kill a work bee completely. If you go after them in the moment they appear, you should be have time enough to destroy all three. You are doing something wrong.. or maybe you just wait too much to go for em. Forget about the fighters attacking you just go for the work bees.
Almost? That would flatten them...they barely have any health.

A plasma high yield will destroy em. But as you know, a high yield from a photon torp is different, it fires 2 normal projectiles instead an overcharged one. Sometimes you will kill them sometimes you wont. Dont ask me why. The point is, any other skill than torp high yield will not have such effectiveness.
I'm pretty sure they get a slight dmg buff...it always seems that way to me at least...but still, on a normal ship if you've got two photon torpedos...it can make an unshielded targets life hell ;)

Work bees are not supossed to have shields. Thats the reason if you dont kill em with a torp crit, you sure will kill em with two of em. I played the mission dozens of times and i never ever had problems killing the work bees in time. I just hate shuttle fights and mechanics. They are terrible and i really dont like firing beams that are even bigger than my own ship. That looks pathetic.
I've never had trouble with thaat mission or shuttles (Except the camera)

(And the beams...would it kill them to make the effect smaller?)
