Why is this game so bad.
I was expecting an open universe PVP game what i got was a PVE missions based game which basically sucks.

What, exactly, led you to the conclusion that STO would be open-world PvP? That's EVE's domain.

Dont know but the game is rubbish.

For some people, it is rubbish. It is a very valid personal opinion. Personally I love it. :steamhappy:

I forgot to mention that EVE online is also rubbish and this game would be a better game than it if it was PVP open universe.

But that'd also require pvp balance, which is nonexistent in STO.

The combat in EVE is total trash and the game has now been bought out by someone else, I've just uninstalled Star trek online and i havent played EVE for more than a year recently im finding that most games dont live up to exepectations of players.

Looking for another game now.

Then you should not play or look for MMO's, if it's not your favorite kind of games.

Try Dreadnoughts or Elite Dangerous. aquanox and descent and (lol) Star citizen are coming soon. STO is also auto target in space and ground combat (I lol’d when I went into “FPS” targeting mode). I got sick of auto target in WoW, but I really like the ship combat in STO. Elite pretty much requires a joystick and throttle.

I played it years ago, but No Man's Sky is filling the niche now. I wish No Man's Sky had a bridge and allowed me to pick an away team and/or level up my away team similar to Mass Effect. That would've been awesomah.
An MMO based on a TV series that tries to replicate episodes from the TV series, who would have thought???

STO used to have some really great pvp, but unfortunately that became unbalanced and all about uncloaking and dropping a barrage of 5 torpedoes on someone's unsuspecting ass at full dps buffs so no one does pvp anymore. Sorry to hear you're disappointed, apart from the ground combat needing to ramp up to it's shared system Champions movement and attack efficiencies I really dig it.

Bad is a state of mind.

If it is not what you wanted; then you can pick something else.
If it is a game that disappoint you for technical issues; then maybe they can be fixed.

If you just want a PVP pew pew game; then most of the MMORPG out there are not for you probably; you may want to look into action MMO; which offer more PVP in larger areas, beside hubs.

STO is not a bad game at all (you were not there at launch probably); it all depends from what you like and what you are looking for. This is a standard skill-based time-based mmorpg with on-foot sections and space sections, it is not Star Citizen.

At launch, people paid almost 400 dollars for the lifetime subscription; the game had a monthly subscription like WOW :) So while now it is free; it was not made as F2P game.

Plus if you think that free games are not that great; you never played Warframe probably...or Fortnite, or the other ton of free games out there; beside the crappy early access or sexy titles :)
