What level are you? What are you flying? What ship's gear you using?
Improve your ship's gear and your build. You should be able to kill a borg modded warbird while delaying the other two. Then attack and kill the next one while delaying the other, then take the last one out.
If you would like advice on your ship, please post what you are currently using.
Also, you might consult this guide (which I wrote)

That's fine as a tactic, but what equipment is on the ship?
The only problem with that is you've taken your normal dps output and divided it 3 ways so unless the cool down is pretty much zero and you can just spam constant attacks, all you're doing is 3 weak attacks each time you can shoot.
I did that one by concentrating on each ship in turn and I think I only had 1 left to fight at the end.
It's by far the best offensive skill for low level ships and shuttles, and before those warbirds at the end of Desperate Measures power up, they're completely unshielded.
Well yes, but which equipment?
Because a lot of people who run into these sorts of issues, turn out to have un-matched equipment and other logic problems in their build.
A typematched build with appropriate BOFF skills and tac consoles, is going to vastly outperform a trash build, even if the equipment is the same level.
I'm currently a Level 9 Lieutenant.
I don't know what its called, but I'm still using the ship I started with - the small one where the warp engines are slung under the saucer. Federation Light Cruiser? Only got Level II phasers and photon torpedoes.
Have consoles that augment armour, deflector and phasers, but not massively.
Also, like I said, I can't figure out how to delay the warbirds. I got several "delay" buttons appear on the screen and kept clicking on them. The bars would move along a little but never complete and eventually I ran out of delay buttons and the ships all activated at once.
Ha! I wish I was Level 20. Try Level 9 with Mark II weapons...still very much a newbie.
Sounds like I probably need to pick an easier mission. Would be nice if the missions had some kind of difficulty ranking to give you an idea of whether you can complete it or not.
As it is the game just throws stuff at you and you just start missions without any clue as to how hard it will be.
That said I did enjoy the massed fleet action at the end of the previous mission set, where you have to defend Romulus from the separatists / fanatics.
Oh, yeah, they removed the level requirements and the "Thou Shalt Do These Missions in Their Original Order!" thing... a blessing in some ways, a curse in others.
Still, there's a reason some of these missions used to be level-gated. They assume that you have certain Captain Abilities that you may not have unlocked yet.
It would be wise to complete the Klingon War arc first; not just because it's the easiest (in theory) but because it's the first story-wise.
For fighting Romulans, and anyone else with plasma weapons for that matter, the Science Bridge Officer skill "Hazard Emitters" is very handy as it removes the plasma fire DoT, and repairs your hull over time. If your Science BOff doesn't have it already, train them in it asap. Trust me.
I see. The enemies should be matched to your level. I remember being blown up on multiple occasions in my connie when i was around that level. If you wish, I'd be more than happy to help out. Add me if you wish.
I actually finished the Klingon War arc very recently. I'm just 2-3 missions into the Romulan arc.
Weirdly, when I logged in yesterday, the game decided to upgrade me to Level 10 (despite failing the mission again) and I got to go back to Earth Spacedock for my promotion to Lt Cmdr and got a new ship.
Chose the Science Vessel...mainly just to be different...then realised I'm 1 Science Officer short for my bridge crew (earned an additional Tac & Engineering officer).
Pretty sure I did train my Science Officer in Hazard Emitters, but at the Ensign level. Got them all up to Lt level now. Gonna be expensive to train them further.
