The far right has always rather disliked the franchise. "The Federation is Socialist" is a criticism I remember from the TNG era (yes, in a McCarthy era tone), and after that, they could get worked up over a black captain, a female captain, and gratuitous Vulcan greasing. Okay, that last one was probably a different kind of worked up.
Of course, setting details aside and looking at things in their entirety might lead to different conclusions.
For example, I can see why Ted Cruz claimed Kirk probably was Republican back in 2015, I was surprised a Republican considered rather far on the right would do so, though - Kirk would be pretty centrist. But hey, we learned from the 2016 primaries even Cruz is apparently too centrist for the raving lunacy style GOP of today. That's both sad and scary.
lol
The American legal system continues to move very slowly - I personally don't expect any judgement (if one happens at all) until after STO's anniversary missions comes out personally. Probably later than that though.
STD is a Passable show only if you have no ideas what Star Trek is, and it'd be ok if it wasn't called star trek and had nothing to do with it..
STO AoD is Story wise (STD alts) very ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and crappy old tutorial copy pasted & everything But when it comes to features (the new ones and not the ton of ones they broke and are now fixing) are some of the best I've seen so far.. The changes in the Story skipping stuff & that sort of stuff is great, and The Random Queue System is THE BEST feature that cryptic tossed in to this game for quite a While and it is actually proof that they DO Listen to feedback and do implement good ideas & solutions on their Feedback section of the forum, cuz if you look it up, there is a post suggesting Random queues around the time ViL came to life and Cryptic Took that feedback and only a few months later announced it, making little changes to the post and all stated in it and they didn't screw it up, unlike some other Cryptic ideas that have every now and then been quite messed up and full of bugs.
I for one hope that they continue to keep making such changes that help the quality of life ingame and that they continue listening to good ideas for solving problems from players who play the game a lot and understand how things could be made to benifit The Player Base (most of it anyway) and the Company working to give us this game so that they can keep the game alive and well for many years to come and earn a well diserved profit.
Out of curiosity in the first place why make a Disco-era character? There's no recruitment event going on and other than the new tutorial it isn't any different than what the normal Fed experience is (or AoY).
I'm very, very much in the middle of the aisle if I'm anything. Also, I'm not talking about what you're talking about. I'm talking about the blatant, straight-to-your-face things the people in charge of STD have said.
- They literally stated that they were making STD the way the were to blatantly snub their noses at Trump people and whites. I didn't even vote for Trump and I don't like that. (Hell, the Klingons are supposed to represent white nationalists or some nonsense.)
- Their leadership has been rearranged because they were abusing the cast.
- One of their producers got loud about the metoo movement and triggered a kid SHE had molested to come forward and out her for her hypocrisy.
- They very possibly ripped off an indie game developer, snubbed his efforts at reaching out to them, then tried to blame one of the old writers when a law suit was filed against them.
- That old writer then pointed out the notes and meeting records he kept proving his original script was "very different" and that it had been changed due to some sort of obvious "inspiration".
STD is exactly what it sounds like. It's a group of bad people and people too weak of will not to go along with them. The idea of giving these people money to continue down this road is just sickening.

Honestly, this is one of the points where I have to agree. Granted, I think politics is a waste of time in general, but entertainers should not use the platform they've been given to try and prosletyze.
Where'd they blame one of the old writers for the Tardigrades thing?
