Does anybody here actually DO Secrets of Nimbus anymore?
I'm curious. I typically do because as much as ground combat is clunky it's an interesting mission chain and can be done reasonably quickly (and I am a completionist).

yes, some players have to do it, and some do it for the Nimbus Pirate call. Nimbus is the best place to do endeavours like ground weapon damage and the Dewan Arthropod, Gorn and Captain slayers.

I forgot about the pirate call. That's a nice device to pick up.

Cool, I feel better knowing I'm not the only person to run that so called "dead end" mission chain. As annoying as it is I kind-of like it.

Love running Nimbus for ground endeavours, damage accolades and just getting every silly thing completed there. One of my favourite places to go, being honest.

Yeah, I finally bothered to actually DO the accolades and found them to be rather amusing. Honestly this playthrough I found Nimbus to be a lot more fun than I remember, but I'm not quite sure why.

nimbus actually isn't that bad unless you get a bunch of spacebar superstars trying to do their gorn endeavor at the same time you're trying to scrape together satellite codes

at the very least it's more fun than fighting through hordes of fek'ihri, and that's post-revamp
pre-revamp fek'ihri return was probably the single most tedious arc in the entire game

Good idea to move to an instance with less people if you're doing the actual missions.

true, this is also valuable for the extraneous dyson missions, like tower control et. al
though that's the least of tower control's issues, namely that it actually doesn't seem to update half of the time, even if you fulfil the quest objective

If you are leveling a character, do Nimbus as your third or fourth arc. You will get a ton of xp for it at low level and get lots of ground gear. I hate doing it on a fully leveled toon as you get nothing for it.

Best spot for killing those pesky Captain for endeavors is right at this spot.. (above the rundown transporter).. The one that spawns here has the shortest respawn time...

I don't know...did you ever do the pre-revamp Last Stand and Best Defense? By the gods, I remember doing them when the Romulans were first released as a playable faction and it took me HOURS to do Candle in a Hurricane. I think the best way I discovered to actually beat it was to replace ALL my aft turrets with mines and literally spread hundreds of plasma mines all over the damned map.

The Best Defense is still dreadful, but this time I think I only died about a half-dozen times as opposed to the first time I did it and probably died at least 25 to 30 times.

I actually was playing my KDF character before switching to my Romulan one and had just finished the Fek'lhri chain. I didn't have too much trouble with them. I don't 100% remember them pre-revamp but I can honestly say the Elachi are far far more annoying. They are disablers with POWERFUL shields. The pre-revamp Elachi were vulnerable-ish to mines and melee and that was about it.

Although, does anybody here remember the first version of the Borg that actually required the frequency modulators? Those were the pits. Something like every five shots or so you had to remodulate otherwise you were dealing something like 25% damage.

i've played the game on-and-off since crossfire, of course i've played the pre-revamp and post-revamp versions of TBD and last stand
i still firmly believe as far as ground content is concerned the fek'ihri missions were and are some of the most tedious and boring missions to ever disgrace the game, far worse than elachi who have a crippling melee weakness to make up for their high shield modifier
