Team not moving to waypoint

I'm doing a mission where you need your crew to stand on a pressure plate while I stand on the other. I click on the set waypoint button and click it on the other pressure plate, but they do not go to the waypoint.

ok, apparently I needed to be in "Shooter Mode" to be able to set the waypoints...

it works fine you just have to get your bridge officer waypoint to cover the "far side" of the other pressure plate, and the BOFF will stand on it, or it'll stop as it reaches the edge of your waypoint (if you place it on the pressure plate) in that mission for some mystic cryptic reason.

Turn off the option for your teammate to follow you. Then set the waypoint to the plate.

You needn't be in shooter mode. The BOFF is pretty poor at standing actually ON the waypoint, but will get there in the end if you set/reset the waypoint to various places at and around the plate - ie a bit of trial an error until the BOFF stumbles their drunken path onto the plate. Just one of those 'close enough for friday afternoon' things to enhance our enjoyment.
