Being forced to link my steam to arc ?
I read about the article about running sto in offline mode, been doing that only to find out its not available anymore. I will not use arc period, why is Steam allowing this?

Your Arc account is the account you use for STO - if you play STO then you have an Arc account.

Using the Arc launcher itself is not necessary, but you are using Arc if you play STO.

This is basically just binding your already existing Arc account to Steam in order to bypass having to log in.

You should be able to launch STO as a non-Steam game through Steam by finding Star Trek Online.exe in the files and adding it to your library - although this will disable buying Zen through Steam.
If you have only one arc account for STO make sure you do follow directions to link it to Steam correctly. If you don't read carefully the linking, you will make a fresh arc STO account that Steam will login to all the time.

Open up the folder that you have STO in, find the STO launcher exe and make a Shortcut by right click and chose make a shortcut, then find that new shortcut, drag to desktop.

The link to the standalone installer still works. >
- Uninstall and Reload the game, You can load from the Standalone link at here. >

So I tried what you both mentioned with out any success. So just linked the accounts, guess what now I can not even run the game. Its at 2 fps now what the hell is going on?
I keep getting a error when I try to log in to my Arc account, I reset my password and it still won't let me log in, I've been playing STO for a while and never had any issues, I have a feeling that my account got hacked.
