Emptying Overflow Bag
How do I delete the contents of my overflow bag? It contains nothing but common duty officers and I've been trying to claim them unsuccessfully since there were only a few. Now, the bag is full. I don't have enough inventory space to 'Take All' and I have no intention of buying more. I just want the bag cleared so I can claim rewards for completing assignments. I scanned these forums for an answer but they're all concerned with how to preserve the contents. Can't find any instructions for simply deleting them.

I think it's bugged. I have space in my inventory but it's saying I don't have any.

Usually the best way is to contact CS so they can delete it or something.

I could be wrong though, I only recently returned after a few years of hiatus.

Duty officers need space in your roster, not your inventory.

Have you tried clearing your Inventory bag enough to take all the items waiting in Overflow? Throw somethings away from your Inventory. Move some stuff to your Ships in Manage ships. Put ground devices and weapons into boffs slots. Move some stuff to your Bank. Sell common items to the ship gear vendor. Discard items that you can reclaim from the Event Reclaim list.
You can double click to take an item in your Overflow.

Inventory has nothing to do with it. Open up the Duty Officer tab at the bottom of the box in the upper right hand corner. Once it's open click on 'Roster'. At the bottom of the box you'll see something like '47 of 100' or probably in your case '100 of 100'. That means your roster is full (no different really than the Bridge Officer slots - if you have your 5 filled, you can't add anymore).

The only way to empty the overflow bag in this case is to do duty officer missions where you send colonists / prisoners off to colonies. When you do that, your roster number will go down and the same number will move out of your overflow bag over to your roster.

Or discard doffs, donate them to fleet holdings, sell them on the exchange....or buy more roster slots.

or exchange low-level Doffs for higher quality ones at your personnell officer
