Sol Defense set is pretty neat if you want something defensive. I haven't tried the newest set though.

If you have the warp core from the anniversary event, go for the bajoran defense set from the mission Scylla and Charybdis.
The core automatically drains energy from nearby enemy ships and gets a AMP mod on ultra rare. AMP increases all damage by 3.3% for every subsystem above 75.
Its set bonus increases phaser, plasma and disruptor damage and improves the cores drain ability further.
You can even reroll the set pieces with exception of the core. Best mission set for increasing damage as of now.

Solonae's only good on ships with a high shield modifier due to the solonae set focusing on shields.

The quantum phase catalysts is a good phaser set. The console gives a 20% boost to phaser damage, and is obtainable from Sunrise, the first mission in the Future Proof arc.

I use Disruptors so i perfer the Nausicaan Set. the 3 piece gives 26.6% Disruptor Damage & +50 Hull Pen
