Is there any use for tribbles?

I have like a full row of them in my inventory, can I safely discard them?

Kinda but nah. You can "breed" them to crank out extra Doff science missions and when you advance them up to +2.5% damage equip all your Boffs with nei's or har's but some of the lockbox tribbles are better although expensive. Even Epic Tribbles are kinda meh. If you don't need to get your science rank 4 then I'd say just outfit your Boff's and call it a day; I tend to go with 20 stims, combat pet, healing crystal and a tribble on all my Boff's.

Feed them to cannibal tribbles.. and hold on the carcasses.. You can get more useful Tribbles from the phoenix store for your boffs... and for yourself, getting the Gambling Device is best (costs 30 Lobi).. +10% CrtH +10% CrtD +15 dodge for an hour

And if you can get a IDIC Tribble, then when your Boff uses it it will stack with the Gambling device buffs and also buff your other Boffs..

KDF: tribble+Dosi Rutgot = Cannibal tribble. Cannibal tribble+ tribble = tribble corpse.
10x Tribble corpse is used for a duty officer task

FED/ROM/JEM: tribbles can be bred for useful buffs, but the best one is just a mission or exchange purchase away. tribble+slusho mix = +2% all damage, +2 all damage resistance.

Regular tribbles? stop what you are doing discard/laser them away from your inventory

I've gotten a couple of other types too, but they didn't seem as useful as the hit point one's. One created a dyson sphere and the other ..... ?

I do notice that they'll reproduce in my inventory from time to time.
