Other Pro-DPS Min / Max players hate carriers and hangar pets, and will spew hate on this ship.
The narcine is a better carrier and its a t5, possibly getting a t6 version at somepoint relatively soon... ish.
Likewise the denuos is a better carrier with the addition of temporal toys, not just the extra weapon slot from being a dread carrier, downside is that if you want the specific frigates you'll have to buy the arehbus destroyer to unlock them.
Why should anyone listen to you?
I would very much like an explanation why carriers aren't fun, if you don't mind.
Personally I think the whole dread vs vanilla carrier is a bit pointless as the only real difference is a single weapon slot. Depends how pedantic you are about the definition beyond it having two hangars and ability to use frigates.
For the jupiter and other barge like ships you're best avoiding torps up front because the number of times you get to use them are going to be much lower than in other ships. Focus on beams and broadsides.
The t'laru carrier is a bit of an exception as it has a 4/2 setup so is more frontal assault focus.
As chronolord said tractor mines are a good choice for in the back of a slower ship, also they're free from a romulan arc mission. Nukara rep web mines are another option, longer cooldown but they will target different ships and work against pretty much everything.
If you stop posting, I am certain EVERYONE will forget you exist.
But I have been playing on and off since closed beta and I know how to get the hanger pets to generally do what I want. Though there are times they are special and won't listen.
Incorrect. Everyone will be happy he stopped posting.
The reason why some don't like the Carrier, specifically ones like the Jupiter carrier, is that you are getting a slow moving, slow turning vessel with only 3 foreward firing weapon mounts and 3 aft. The trade off is supposed to be having 2 hanger bays. Problem is, some people have done testing and found that the fighters do not provide enough damage to make up for two less weapon slots.
This combined with the fact the fighter controls don't work, and that leads to people dumping on the carriers.
However, this game isn't terribly hard. It's not like you won't be able to play endgame. Just be sure this is something you truly want, that will truly make the game fun for you before you invest in buying a Jupiter.
Thank you. This is a much more sensible answer than n3mes1s'.
You can't even write a sentence without screwing up it's cohesion, and you're 40 years old. There's a problem with that.
