Science Officer, not sure to use a cruiser

I've been afree to play throughout my many years of playing and my 450 hours on the game, I have a main science character that i use the t6 andromeda class exploration cruiser I recieved for not playing and have been using it since, my build has great shields and works really well (most of the time) but i do little damage, I've always liked cruisers and the tank build and found science vessels boring/underpowered (hull and weapon wise)
I don't have any secondary characters because i dont like repeating the campaign adn i dont want to level grind again.
By far my favourite race in the tv series voyager and in game have been the voth, but their ships have always exceeded 250,000,000 ec and thought i should just build my cruiser. Since the infinity lock box and the t5 ship pack the prices of tier 5 lock box ships have dropped. I've had my eye on a Voth Bastion Flight Deck Cruiser for a long time and now that it is 38 mil ec i have a chance of getting it. It would cost $15 dollars for ec increase adn enough lock box keys to get enough, but im not sure if it would be worth it in general, or if it is, making an engineer fed character to use it. I have a tank build and 150k fleet credits and 50k dil adn 150k dil ore. I have some voth beams(can u tell i REALLY like the voth) and would be able to outift the Voth ship well. I dont know how much replay value i have left and/or how long/how fun it would be to use the ship.
I know this is long, but help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

FYI the Bulwark (Voth Dreadnought Cruiser) is available through the phoenix prize pack as well.

That would be a good idea. But God knows when that will be.

Supposedly it's the t5 xindi ships that are next in line for revamps (the narcine and contortrix).

A brand new T6 from a lockbox will still cost in the 9 digits. He's only looking at the Bastion because of the lower price.

Oh for god's sake, how many times i will have to tell people that science ships power doesn't not come from their weapon slot or energy to weapons. Auxiliary power buff all your "EXOTIC POWERS" and effects that are affected by particles. You can tank with any ship or class has long you know what are you doing.

Katherine, I know this, I used to use a science ship built around exotic damage, but i said that i just prefer a ship with more health from the get-go so any boosts i do are even stronger, 3/3 weapons are ok but with quite low maneuverability that only use science abilities as main dps is not my style, i didnt say they dont do high dps, and i said that i would rather a tankier ship with more console/weapon room (i know science ships have the same amoutn of consoles and secondary deflector) and i like the voth

Would the new 2017 summer festival ship be better, although the ability of the bastion is really good, I may see if I like the new carrier and if not I will most likely get the bastion

The reason I'm asking for tips on the bastion is because I've always liked the Voth, and because of their abilities and now the bastion can be bought for $15, 8 keys for $10 and ex increase for $5. The voth bastion is better than my ship in every way possible for cheap. I know the t6 versions will be so much better in comparison, but I don't want to be spending above 15-20 bucks
