Boosting phaser damage

Hi guys, i know tet weapons are best for the vorgon escort but i prefere phaser DHC's, right now im only getting about 6k DPS which is poor, i got all mk xiv very rare weapons, full tac consoles(will switch to vuln locators) and am working towards the undine set but what else is there i can do...?

Well, the most important thing, your power levels, im assuming you have 100 in your weapons. The second most important thing - Get plasmonic leech. That for a start. Also, if you already have vuln locators, and all items to mk XIV, there is nothing much you can add to the mix. Besides the proper set (the 2set piece of the undine one is a good one) there is nothing more you can put to increase your DPS. The only thing that comes to my mind is to use a fleet warp core with the [AMP] modificator. So everytime any power level raises over 75, you get +2.5% extra damage. But you are only going to achieve that using plasmonic leech, of course.

Keep in mind, in system space you are never going to see your real DPS. You need to go into a fight, activate all your buffs, traits, etc and then, and only then, you can see your final DPS numbers.

i do have a plasmonic leech and most of my gear is mk xiv

It's weird that you have allegedly 6K DPS with full phaser and according consoles.

What ship are you flying, exactly?

Is it a Vorgon Escort? Then something is very wrong.

Should easily be 30k+, then.

I use a Lobi Console called Bounty Hunters Friend on my DHC Build as it reduces the weapon power cost and gives you some damage resistence.

i have a vorgon escort, very rare mk xiv |Phaser DHC's, and turrets, sol defense set(only mk xii but will upgrade) mk xiv phaser relays rare or higher plasmonic leech, trellium-d, regenerative integrety field, crystaline absorption matrix harrasser probe console and enhanced neutronium... and apparently i get 6k DPS

No need for that. Just to be clear:

You are using mainly DHCs, and it's Phaser. Your Tactical consoles are boosting Phaser damage.

This correct?

If so, then I want to know where you read that measly 6k DPS from.

Two options: Are you using that combat logging tool? if you do, you may do it wrong.
Because here's a thing to keep in mind with Escorts:

You only do maximum damage when all your guns are aimed at the enemy and firing.

Since Dual Heavy Cannons have a very narrow arc, you are basically doing 0 DPS broadside when NOT facing your enemy directly (disregarding possible turrets still firing).

My point is, sure your DPS seems low because Escorts don't have enemies in their arcs all the time.

But between your Bridge Officer skills and your heavy cannons, frontal barrages should be devastating.

Second option: You basically guessed the number from reading the weapon tooltips in-game.
Those are never all that accurate, they merely display the base damage (simplified speaking).

So I ask again: Where did that number (6k) come from? Because it's not 6k when you have XIV Dual Heavies and proper consoles.

u are correct i have the phaser relays mk xiv and each of my cannons read 1800dps in systems, i did /combatlog 1 and used the dps league parser (well my friend did) and he said i got 6k

Which mission did you parse on? Because 6k is quite literally peanuts (white mk x will do that without breaking a sweat).

i did the gamma eridon rommie patrol mission

I know that's not normally a parse mission, but whatevs (friend here). Scrological parsed 5,909 DPS, and did 1,548,157 damage over 262 seconds.

He used CRF mostly. His max spike was 9,083 damage (Phaser DHCs - CRF II).

Propably, but in a random patrol there aren't "tough enough" targets for dps to get closer to actual values as everything dies in three seconds and you have to re-target.

This being in the beta quadrant too, so targets are low level.

The de-facto benchmark is Infected Space Advanced (ISA).

PS. As a point of interest, the current record for ISA is over 500K dps....which is plain nuts. Holy Power Creep!
