Attention: REPAIR YOUR F***ING SHIPS
Seriously, I'm constantly seeing people with multiple ship damage markers, even in Advanced. This is absolutely stupid. Listen up, if you go into any TFO with a damaged ship, especially above Normal, you are forcing everyone who isn't damage to carry your sorry scrub rear. Stop it.Learn to play. If you can't be bothered to repair your ship, stop joining Advanced (or any) TFOs. Good grief this is just wretched. What is wrong with you? Serious players do not want to carry your sorry 1000-DPS wrecks through Advanced content.

Thankfully I don't really see folks with a lot of damage on their ships but I am surprised still simply cause even if you don't keep repair components in inventory you can get it repaired for free. I do still however like to keep pretty well stocked with repair items.

Repairing for free does require you to go to somewhere with a ship repair dude though. I usually don't bother with Advanced so don't keep repair thingies on my characters, but I usually do go and repair my ship...

Oh well I'm usually always stopping by ESD when I play to adjust ships, switch them out or hit up my bank so it's not much of an issue for me. Not sure where other people go.

I usually just switch ships in the sol system and switch up equipment in the Sol system. I only go to the ship vendor dude to customize or delete a ship. I use my Nandi's bridge for bank access.

You don't even need to keep/have the repair/healing items in your inventory, just having them in your bank is enough.. in fact you put a stack of 20 in your bank and 20 in your inventory and somehow die, and while waiting for the timer to end to respawn , you open ship/char page and click on the repair/heal damage before the timer ends... You'll then see the consumable(s) used wasn't from your inventory, but from your bank (the highest and farthest left placed stack)

Something i noticed long ago when i'd notice my Minor Components stack would keep dropping under 20 in my bank.. (I keep one stack of each in there) plus a stack of the major Heal and Repair on my inventory...

Their used to a time in this game when those were a must to have on you, and i guess now, they are just taking/wasting 2 slots of in my inventory.
No you still need them. Only scrubs don't repair or heal.

I mean on me, like in my inventory.. i have 1 stack of each type in bank.. which if or when I use them. get pulled from bank anyhow.. It was just back in the day i'd bring extra for others in group... Way back when... when the borg were hard and took a group of skilled players.. and the Big Dig on elite was also a real challenge requiring them.. sort of a collector/hoarder too.. Just redid my inventory yesterday.. had a lot of useless Rep ground weapons not worth investing to give proper stats

this was taken just before i did NPC sell off the junk and redid my inventory

Yeah. The bank as space is useful for storage of compnents. I don't bother with Advanced so usually don't keep them in my bank for whatever reason (or at all).
Oh come on guys, standard bank inventory. Welcome to the world of advanced/elite.

Damn I miss those good old days...
I still say having ship injuries on your ship should disable queues on that character until they're repaired. That'll never happen though.

I'm just betting on them removing the injury system eventually.
Yeah, the days of "penalizing death" are well behind us, and STO is the only one holding on to the system.
I could be wrong but I thought people who carry so many ship injuries use it to hide or confuse other players, probably in PVP, from seeing the icons that may give away which set they are using on thier ship.

However, I assume also that it could be new players who may have queued up during a mission they died alot in and did not have time to repair.

Have not played a while and started a DSC Character just today and was dissapointed that it is just a reskin of the begining tutorial mission with the Borg.

Could be the pvp thing, although I doubt the people who play pvp have sufficently terrible builds to the point where they're dying left and right.

My bet is its on people too lazy to run back to ESD on their 47th farming alt, or just don't know how to fix their ships.
1. If they use injuries to hide info in PvP, they're idiots who probably lose PvP constantly.

2. Anyone who doesn't know how to repair needs to stop playing because they are hopeless as players, such people will never be useful to the playerbase.

3. Anyone who is too lazy is trying to force others to play the game for them.

Yeah we definitely need to stop injured people and ships for joining TFOs or just get rid of injuries and damage altogether.
