Similar name, but not the same.
Argala is a system in the Delta Quadrant. You won't be going there any time soon as I'm fairly certain low level players can't access that (correct me if I'm wrong).
There is another way, with EC and buying and selling keys, watch the exchange for a month and note the lowest and highest keys buy and sell for, wait until they are at the lowest and buy as many as you can and then sell at peak. To make it effective, you need to have around 100 million in EC to make it productive. This is how I used reach my credit limit back in the day.
Special note, Key prices change drastically when new lockboxes and seasons come out, so be mindfull around those times
Don't do this, at least not right now - Promo packs have a much better conversion rate. The next Infinity lockbox (when key prices should spike) will likely be in the next few weeks, after the summer event. If not then, it will be before Age of Discovery launches.
But really - ALL the best ways to make EC involve selling things to other players - do all the above grinds and you'll make maybe a million EC, and lose an hour doing it. (it'll be more EC in less time once geared properly, but as a new player, you won't be geared properly any time soon)
Right now, we have the Summer Event at Risa, which is open to all characters. (don't even need Diplomatic Immunity like you used to before the sector block revamp now) You have at least 3 -possibly 5 if new players get extra character slots since AoY and VIL- character slots.
3k EC spent on hiring 3 Floaters from the Floater NPC in the hut to the right where you beam in, and that's 3 characters set up for the Horga'hn Hunt. (if you have 5 character slots, you'll need better floaters to get them all through)
You'll finish with time to spare, and you'll have 300 Lohlunat Favors, from 15 minutes. Repeat process 3 times, and throw in a dance (two characters; 1 gets the full 100 Favors, the other 25, remember to pin your emotes list) and you have 999 Favors. At current prices, that 999 stack is roughly 6 million EC - for far lower investment in time and resources. later on in the year once the event is over, they'll double, and by the time next Summer Event starts, they might well have trippled. (they have in past years)
Once you've got 5 characters with Impulsive floaters (6 is possible, but needs really good flying, and very good loading times) you'll be able to get 999 Favors in two Hunts. There is not an EC grind in the game which can compare to this.
To get the basic level set up, just needs levelling your characters to level 10 and then flying to Risa. Doing it the best way will set you back 5000 Favors, so it won't be cost effective this year unless you really set yourself to grinding. (then a whole day spent running every Horga'hn Hunt and Dance gets well over 6000 Favors)

On a related note, get to Risa and start the reputation project for claiming the T6 ship; you won't be using it to fly as a final ship because of the 3/5 weapons layout, but the Admiralty card is still useful. (you'll be able to finish it next year)
Yeah, that's why I said to be mindful around new lockboxes and seasons. I should have also mentioned community events around the holiday seasons, but still when things are normal, key exchange farming is a good way to earn EC,
I must admit one thing I liked coming back to the game, I got a bug ship for free, so many times I was tempted to buy it off the exchange, kind of glad other things distracted me :P
Key - 125 Zen for 1, 1125 Zen for 10, EC value 4+ million per key, and these days it is kept around that area because Cryptic keep running key sales if supply gets too used up. (the keyring bundle they put on is better value, but as I can't remember the numbers from memory, I won't include it here)
RnD promo pack - 300 Zen for 1, 1000 Zen for 4, EC value min 15m EC, typical 16-19m EC per pack.
Keys cost more to obtain at an equivalent price point to bring in a lot less EC - it is far worse return on investment. It's understandable if the promo event isn't on, but even then, you are better off having some patience and getting the most for your Zen when the next infinity promo happens. (they are rather frequent these days)
The best time to have keys is the day a new lockbox comes out, as there is a short moment of opportunity selling the new shinies to people who must have them day 1; but you've still got to be careful, because the price comes down rapidly and you can lose your whole investment if you don't get the day one sales.
ETA - this isn't meant to be argumentative, but keys are only a "good" investment, not a great investment.

Same with your conversion of Dil to Zen - don't do it at any time, save it all for a Phoenix event; this Phoenix event just gone shifted the Dil/Zen ratio by 20 points, and even with the RnD promo it still hasn't recovered back to the previous normal. That means a lot more Zen for the same amount of Dil.
