Can you equip more than 2 consumables on your Space hotbar/skillbar?

Sooo... I'm having trouble equipping more than 2 consumables on the hotbar. Every time I try to equip them, it just replaces one of the consumables already there. The replaced item is sent to my inventory and is removed from the skill screen so I can't drag them from there to the hotbar.

I'd love to just drag and drop with the inventory open, but that doesn't work... another terribly annoying design choice.

What consumables are you talking about? Batteries and stuff? That might be a ship limitation, since escorts normally only have 2 device slots (that's where consumables like batteries go).

space consumables go into your ships device slots, which has between 1 to 4. Some items in your inventory does give you a power button that you can put into your power bars.

If you put them into your ship device slots, then hit the "P" button, you can drag them onto your hot bar from there.

ahhhhhhh... so its dependent on how many slots the ship has. That makes more sense, now.
