working pet
hello
im new in the game and i dont undertsand how pet works. Example the support drone here
https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/1003670-the-elachi-lock-box
its 10 000 dilithium and its wrotte "consumed after used" and its stay 60 sec. I dont understand if after used we gain a skill to invoc the drone or if the drone only stay 60 sec and after we need to buy another 10 000 dilithium to reinvoc the drone?

when something is a consumable it is used up and you have to buy another. those pets are NOT worth it.

ok its not a consumable thing which give a pet skill ^^ its evidence for you because you know the game and speak eng well.

Yeah, those elachi pets are useless, especially for 10k dil a piece. Reccomnedation is to ignore their existence.

If pet is consumable, then each use cost 10,000

consumable is worthless

A quest gives a pet that can be used multiple times. Can not remember name. Gives Horta non combat pet, run quest second time to "train" Horta to combat pet. It's the one where the Romulan refugees are on a mining planet. Tal Shiar has a base under the camp.

Not all

One quest gives a no combat pet. If you run same quest again, you can turn no combat into yes combat pet.

I do not remember name of quest.

But pet stays, not consumed

"Mine Enemy" mission will give a combat pet that is NOT consumed.

https://sto.gamepedia.com/Mission:_Mine_Enemy

You have to run it two times.

1st time, choose Horta pet as reward
2nd time, choose Minerlogy research

Use the Minerology Research to get a "Duty Officer Mission" that turns Horta into combat Horta

C-store pets are also infinite summon I believe (although not worth buying). The dino pet from the most recent Breach event is also infinite-summon.

additionally Klingon characters get access to a Jackal Mastiff combat pet early on for free.

There are two combat pets in the game you can use an unlimited number of times.

Eisilum Crystal Horta
Polytrinic Acid Horta

You can find them in the C-Store, and you can find them in the Exchange under "Reward Packs"

Interesting to note - you can put them in a bridge officer's device slots. You can only unpack 1 of each, so you won't be able to use them if you give them to a bridge officer, but IMO your captain can slot more important stuff than hortas.

Your bridge officers are stupid and will waste any consumables you give them. Infinite use hortas are a safe option though. You can give both to your first bridge officer in your away team, and on any mission you bring even 1 officer, suddenly you have 3 allies instead of 1.

My first bridge officer in my away team is the photonic tactical from the lobi store. So he summons two hortas plus his special drone.

IMO the only other device they should get is a health regen tribble (the one with [yu] is the best one) so they can heal a little bit. They pet those once, get the buff, and then stop petting them. If you give them a plain common one, they never stop petting the stupid things.

This list is not correct, as it does not include the Horta from "Mine Enemy", the KDF Jackal, and the Bio-Engineered dinosaur.

Didn't know about the dino pet. Good to know - maybe I can pick that up in the future.

It'd be in the phoenix box presumably.

The Horta Hatchling is a non-combat pet.
