Couldn't get a free bridge officer because slots were full, now I don't know how to get them back.

Hey guys, noob question.

After one of the missions I've got a window pop-up allowing me to choose a new bridge officer, I have carefully selected the one I wanted and bam, he just told me I don't have enough space on my ship. Well 'duh, I forgot slots are limited. So I thought I'll dismiss someone and try to get back the officer that was was offered to me, but I have no clue how to do it. Is it gone forever?

It may have gone into candidates roster.

Check your ship stations tab, at the bottom.

No officer is discarded; either you should have a token in your inventory, to trigger the screen wher eyou rename the officer, or it hsould be in the roster.

Unless you "discard" them, to get training manuals, they never disappear

If they can't join then they go into your inventory as Numenorean says. If you're just starting out though don't rush to dismiss someone because you'll unlock more slots very soon and need both.

Aaah, thank you. She's in the roster. The game really doesn't explain some of this stuff too well ;)
