Gates of Gre'thor - Final Confrontation bug?

I got to the Final Confrontation part of the Gates of Gre'thor mission, and wiped a good handful of times. So I left to get upgraded weaponry and some Engineering Kit modules (the 2 that will fire at your target).
now I can't get back to Fek'lhr. I have been from the top of the area where you beam in to all the way down to Kahless, and back. I have gotten the items that you find when you scan the area... but there is no way to proceed with the mission. I tried beaming back to the ship, and back into the area. I tried leaving the system and returning. I even changed characters and tried logging out... but nothing is triggering the mission to move forward.

Is there something I am doing wrong? Or will I have to dump the mission and start all over?

I recently helped a clan mate through this quest a few weeks ago and he was having the exact same issue. The only way he was able to resolve it was by abandoning the mission and starting it all over again...
