Inventory Item Disappeared

Hi guys,

So I played the mission 'Scylla and Charybdis' and chose the 'Bajor Defense Covariant Shield Array Mk VII' as my reward. When I attached this to my ship (an Olympic Class Science Ship) it changed the appearence of the ship slightly.

However, after I completed my last mission (The Core of the Matter) in which I had to respawn quite a few times to win, the shield has disappeared from my inventory, but the appearence of my ship looks like I still have it installed.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems?

I have losy many items as of late, items ive spent a long time grinding for, dont bother putting a ticket in, they never even read em, bugs like this dont get fixed either.
All there attention is in lockboxes.

If you are sure, then its just the dissapearing items bug. You could try to fill a report, but i can tell you that items that dissapear... bye. I lost a few items in the past 3 months because of this bug. But since its how STO works, bugs evererywhere, i dont pay attention anymore.

Yeah it's definitely gone, when I looked at the current shield on my ship it had changed to another that I had in my inventory, but my ship still looked like it had the Bajor shield. When I tried switching to other shields I also have in my inventory, the ship still looks like it has the Bajor Shield installed, regardless of which shield I use.

In that case, I wonder if I've lost other items that I've not even noticed have gone!

Same here. I lost my temporal negotiator last week. I changed it to another device dragging to the device slot, and i assumed the temporal negotiator went to my inventory. The other day i noticed it wasnt there, or anywhere for the matter :p

Sad part is when you lose an item you cant reclaim anymore. I mean if it is an item from a mission or something like that, you can just replay the episode itself.. but if it is a limited event item or something like that.. you are screwed. But again, so many people report missing items all the time.. that at this point.. its better to just forget about it and move on.

BUT, and this is a good point i forgot, as MeisterGlanz suggested, are you sure that you dont have the shield slotted in the VISUAL slot of your ship instead of the actual shield slot? if you say that you are still able to see the visuals, now that i think of it, you must have the shield in there.

I've only been playing a short time, so I didn't actually know there was a visual shield slot as well. I'll have to have a good look next time I log in, as I don't remember seeing this before. Is it on the same screen as the other ship equipment slots?

Yes, click the Visuals tab inside the status window (next to stats and loadout under the ship portrait).

Another great thing, althou i belive they changed it, was tribble breeding per accident... back when released you could stumble uppon quiet some tribbles, yet the best part was : Keep them in your inventory beside items (nearly ALL of them it seemed back then) and they would EAT IT after X time and birth a new tribble with diffferent collor... i lost quiet some stuff for them prior to me noticing this.

For the Vanity stuff like the shield, yea great to have it finaly, sad i usualy stay with my OG look thou. Wasted in my eyes realy. Maybe we at some point in the future get a proper "vanity" system so we can change the collorisation ourself the way we want and not basicaly FORCE us to do X stuff including paying money to get X collor for ships shielding, engines etc.

You *don't* have to pay - any shield, engine, etc with visuals can be used in the vanity slots, including at least 15 that come from either reputations or episodes. Jem'Hadar characters even get one eligible set *in their starting equipment*.
