u can just copy the game folder without using steam OR arc and play if u loaded 100% with patch on demand turned off
u can DL from arc or steam
copy the folder and start/paly without having arc or steam on ur home PC
just start the launcher or game.exe from the folder
(it will even patch further if needed if u choose the launcher
But if you downloaded it from arc probably you will need to do some tweaks to make the game to run at your home, even if you copy it. Because it will be pointing to the arc launche"
BS
it doesnt make a difference like i keep saying
Launching the gameclient directly never works for me, for some odd reason. There's obviously support for logging in directly to the client though.
- Copied the STO Folder to my PC (I did NOT install ARC)
- Started "Star Trek Online.exe" in main folder (there is NO file named Launcher or similar anywhere)
- Login screen from Perfect world opens - Serverstatus is OFFLINE
- I login and it works, then I can click "Play"
- Game loads and a window shows up "account verification". An email has been send to you
- no email arrives
- after 5 minutes "timeout connection to account server"
Maybe the servers are down, but I think it's a problem with my workaround.
Edit:
- installed arc software
- startet installation in a new folder
- stopped installation and copied the 12 GB into this folder
- startet arc, clicked play
- no download, game starts, great :-)
- server is still OFFLINE, account verification, timeout (same as above)
Check your connection if you're having trouble staying connected. Your internet connection might not be good enough after all.
I removed Arc and just started "Star Trek Online.exe" from the copied folder. Works.
So you just have to copy the game folder.
Thank you all for your help :-)
