Lobi crystals are a tough grind. Given the hard limit of dilithium refining, I'd suggest buying lockbox keys off the exchange with energy credits.
You get your pick of ships in the Lobi shop, most of them exclusive. They cost 900 crystals each.

To be honest I wish there was a way to sell ships and unbound them. I have so many that I don't use, and they are all T6 from events or shop.

But I do agree that getting lobi just for the ships isn't a wise course..
That's why I was saying that it takes less to buy what you want, on the exchange; instead than spend money gambling (or spend time grinding dilithium to get the boxes).
Eh, lockbox ship availability primarily depends on the Infinity Lock Box (and, therefore, how popular the ship is). Lobi ships can be acquired by anyone with the requisite number of Lobi at any time so their price is more stable.

Even after the beam overload nerf (used to be 100% crit rate) it's still my forward arc center piece for my AP beam set...
