Drozana free phoenix prize pack odds - 2019-August

anyone got odds? esp with that other thread mentioning the lootbox bill, it kinda got me thinking.

So far, it's been 2 days for me, right (I probably missed a day)? - i'm 2 rare in 2 days out of 14 days, right? blah.

edit: 2 rare, 1 uncommon out of 3 boxes.

edit: bought 10 boxes with my dil - got 2 very rare, about 4 rare, and 4 uncommon
my calcs give me:
very rare: 2/13 15.38%
rare: 6/13 46.15%
uncommon: 5/13 38.46%

a better population would be better, but i don't have that much dil.

The 3 lowest levels are similar to standard loot drops in percentages. The top 2 levels are super super rare. Don't bother buying extra prize packs beyond the free ones in hopes of getting them. They're solidly in the below 1% category.

all i know the odds are ♥♥♥♥♥... since they first introduced these boxes i have easily opened 2000 of them and never had an epic and only had 2 ultra rare, however... i do have maxed out gold items because of the free upgrades lol

They are the best for adding TP but only have a standard quality improvement, the omegas are the best for improving item quality but an expensive method of adding TP compared to the Phoenix.

The Ultimate Upgrades you get with the key ring bundle are expensive but practical for some items that would be costly to get to max level/quality

This. Buy as many as you wish, but only expect to get upgrades (which is guaranteed). If you happen to win the lottery, that's cool too I guess ;)

I hit the epic one time trying to buy the 10 pack for some upgrades. Truth is you have to be very lucky. I normally also don't buy too many. A fleet member bought a few hundred one year and was extremely disappointed.

I got an epic once. Dissolved it into 2 ultra rares since I have every event ship. The Phoenix box (despite being just a sorta-free lockbox) is the only gamblebox I don't mind in STO cause the lowest tier has an item that is decently useful to anyone seeking to improve their gear in mark.

It's a good position to be in. I opened hundreds before I got the epic I needed for a Kobali Samsar I needed for my ship Bridge collection

those numbers really suck. but i guess it's still better than Powerball.

I picked out things like the admiralty, and grabbed a doff and got the shotgun just for kicks. I'll prob drop any more into upgrades. Thanks for your help everyone

The admiralty is so easy and with all the free ships it gets easier and easier as well for other toons. The doffs help too in many areas. Fun things are fun things and I have bought a few. It's all free stuff anyway? =) The Phoenix will be back again so I always enjoy them, always spend a reasonable bit of Dil for a few boxes just to hope.

I hit the one time and that's pretty lucky it seems. When that happened I was doing some silly close my eyes... "zum zum zummy balla balla." or "This gonna betheone!" open my eyes and.... EPIC? What? lol. btw that never worked again ;P
