Star Trek Online

Unable to authenticate, connection to the server timed out.
Anyone else having this issue today? Have attempted multiple times today to log on, keep getting the message " Unable to authenticate, connection to the server timed out" I can pull up any other game on steam, and loads fine. Was just on this game yesterday, no issues. Today I cant seem to log on at all. Any ideas? And yes I have submitted a support ticket. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Yup same here. About an hour ago and have not been able to get in. Submitted a support ticket and no response. This happens a lot to STO and I have gone through advice on what to do but nothing is working. So we shall see. :/

- Many problems with the game stem from poor or faulty Network connection between your computer and the game servers. Read the sticky thread on the official forum, "Read this before Posting to STO Arcgames forum."

Does a traceroute show that you can connect to the STO/Cryptic game IP?

Have you flushed/renewed your DSN?

Here is the response to the support ticket:

We are aware of the issue with logging into the account server, and hope to resolve this as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, we have yet to nail it down, and therefore do not have a timeline for a fix.

Bottom line is, they are aware of the problem and have no idea how to fix it, which is concerning. Also this issue has been affecting Steam and Arc users, its not exclusive to either method.

i had both my steam and arc copies corrupt right during patches so maybe a patching problem

Did they ever find a fix?
I stopped playing the game, so I cant say, sorry.

Probably, never seen (over my several years, +3000 hours, playtime) a widespread login issue that lasted longer than a day.

More common issues are region/isp related, which are out of their control.

I've been trying all day but can't log in.

No problem logging in here, advice to go through Running-Targets checklist posted earlier if haven't done so already.

Dan the Man , why you hijacking this dead thread? You are in UK and STO servers are in California. OP is in Texas. Totally, more can be wrong with your problem.

Because I had the same error message as the OP and was trying to find out if a common solution had ever been found. I would hardly call that highjacking the thread. I appreciate the time you took to give me swath of links and will look at them, but I do indeed have the mental capacity to google for an FAQ on troubleshooting for network errors. Like, chill!
