Salvage and resources
I often find myself spending 2 to 3 hours just killing every red blimp i see in space playgrounds (aka adventure zones) Mainly the Voth one though, for the Voth Citadel Dread's cause it's fun to switch to a low pop instance and flip the cap points and solo them...
But as a Crafter i've found the best playground for salvage (item drops) is in the Tzenkethi space playground..
Item drops are always MK xii, and is how I keep my mat stocks full and my Salvage number kept at 50K+

And the Undine Space playground offers the best Doff assignments which each take 5 hours to run getting you 1k Com points on avg for success and 3k+ on a Critical success

Which is a great way to fill up to convert into Fleet marks, or get a commendation to Rank 4

Also when you are increasing R&D levels, salvage what you make to get back some Mats..
It will cut down on the time needed to gather Mats for crafting.. And always do your Fleet Lab daily crafting..
And if you are in a rush or have the extra EC, you can just buy some MK X Blue/Purple impulse engines for scrapping (they give the most mats when salvaged when compared to other engineer crafted items) Blue impulse tend to sell for around 10k EC each (last time i bought a bunch needing salvage)..
Interesting. My experience is the exact opposite: I see so few actual item drops in that train wreck of a zone it just doesn't justify putting up with the unbalance if it.
On the other hand, when i head there, the Badlands seem to drop salvageables like candy. Which apparently is something that's not true for most other people.
TL;DR: STO is weirdly unpredictable on drops.
Tzenkethi playground have the best quality in drops.. Voth have the most quantity (Voth Battleships drop 2 to 4 a pop)... Guessing because unless you are hitting the Tzenkethi ships that are CA and larger in class from the front, you are only doing 20-25% of what is dealt if done to the forward arc.. That and the Tzenkethi zone is L60 compared to L50 in the Voth zone....
Badlands tend to drop MK XI's too often..
With 1 hour of killing things I've noticed an avg difference of 1k to 1.5k comparing the Voth to the Tzenkethi zones... I also have more fun in the Voth zone cause I know that I can keep the 4 cap flipped long enough to get the 4 Voth Citadel Dread's to come with their escorts... Where in the Tzenkethi zone to get the 3 Dreads to unlock you need around 10 to 15 players to flip the zones and to stop the recaps.. So when i'm in the Tzenkethi zone i'm just there to for the luk mark daily and salvage (killing ships) and not the objectives...
