Environment Suit Problem

After equipping an environmental suit for the quest "Boldly They Rode", I'm having trouble unequipping it, and can't find the slot it is equipped in. Anyone know how to fix this?

Right click the armor you were wearing before in your inventory and 'Equip' it

Press U, click on your face and then the armor slot

To clarify, I have the suit equipped, but the slot it is in isn't visible, and I am able to wear armor, even though the suit is equipped. Additionally, when I try to equip the suit, the slot labelled Body has a red outline, and I can't move a different environmental suit into that slot.

That's a new one. Have you gone to space map and back to ground map if that helps?

When in space, my character looks normal, but once I go to a land map, the environmental suit shows up, and it disappears once I go back to space.

Have you tried right clicking and disable visuals on whatever armor/equipment currently being worn?.. (which can also be done with the ship's Deflector/Impulse/Shields)...
Also perhaps right clicking on your HP/Shield bars in the top left , selecting change outfit (picking any) will change your appearance... Note that this won't work if you are wearing an always on EV Suit (a suit that doesn't have an added box above the skill hotbars when worn for turning the suit on off)...

Disable visuals doesn't appear for the armor I am wearing, and the suit seems to be an always on suit.

If it would help, I used the equip button to equip the suit originally.
