Interesting, I thought it was because the Klingons captured a romulan ship with a cloak and reverse engineered it. Sounds more plausible than those two making a trade.
Any idea what episode this was covered in?

You are dead set to ruin the star trek multiverse with your damned politics and other forced social justice issues. Star trek was proggressive in a good and civilised way but in discovery most individuals completely ignore the prime directive and act violently and illogically. The way the federation behaves is an affront of what the federation is all about in the rest of the star trek multiverse. Clearly you are not a true fan since you cannot see these obvious contradictions.

Grumpy Trek fans have held the franchise back for decades. Their refusal to accept anything new, or even different from what has come before, ensures that no new content is generated. They then whine that no new content is generated, yet ironically refuse to accept new content when it is presented to them. This vicious circle has been going for as long as I can remember.

It's time for these people to move on, and let Star Trek progress, even if that means making changes to what has gone before. Adapt or perish.

I've often found those who raise the concept of "true fan" are themselves unworthy of the title. This does not change the fact that they're not required to obey the law and letter of the franchise - or necessarily care about what the fans think.

Personally I don't care about the SJW stuff or all that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ either, but I sort of expected that with any new Star Trek show to be honest. The PC stuff is too ingrained in society these days to even expect Star Trek to be immune from it.

Haters whining don't know what they are talking about, Discovery brilliantly incorporates cannon and trek lore with a new fresh look and feel. Threads of Enterprise (Dr. soongs eugenics infecting the Klingon, a nod to the ds9 ep nodding to TOS Klingon looking like humans) Voyager (anyone rember janeway going against the captain of the equinox? Becase they were using a sentient life form for propulsion...) people complain it's a hamfisted "make the Klingon empire great again" analogy but they must have missed the undiscovered country and the resistance the Klingons expressed to ending the Klingon human "cold war"

If you have ever read the classic Spocks World or Sarek you would recognize more elements like the civilian hostility to star fleet and the federation or the long range telepathy Vulcan can have with those they are close to. TNG was decried and hated by fans of TOS and now it's the most beloved of them all...

It's astonishing that fans of a franchise about exploring strange NEW worlds and NEW civilizations are so bent out of shape when they do anything NEW. ...talk about missing the message.

STD was said to be in the EXACT same universe as Ent, TOS, TNG, DS9 and Voy and because of that, it ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up.
If anyone was listening to what i was saying they would understand the idiotic flaw of STD.

Also.. as a Star Trek fan.. I Do want new content.. but i don't want more Past ♥♥♥♥, cuz they allways screw up with the story that would change alot of ♥♥♥♥ in the series set in the future..
The content i'd want would be after Voyager or something like that.. or a Mirror universe... or maybe just a show showing what the Romulans/Klingons (or whatever other Major Civilization) saw.

I love Star Trek: Discovery. I love Star Trek Online. There's nothing you paid haters can do to change my mind. Star Trek: Discovery is a show that depicts actual dark times in the Federation. It depcits characters being characters. Humans being humans. Aliens being alies. And why not some F bombs and some rap music there while cute thick and curvy red head white girls get white girl wasted and black women that kick @$$ and give no fraks about it?

This show is an SJWs worst nightmare, another reason why I will love and support this show.

Oh, did I also state that I am a proud CBS All-Acess subscriber and didn't have to download the whole season from the P!r@t3 Bay?

You guys need to understand that it is diffrent compared the original star treks, but remember this is 100 or so years before kirk, and if you watched the first few episodes, star fleet tried their best to avoid a war, the show has a diffrent concept compared to the original star trek series but thats also a good thing. The show may not be the best, but its not bad

actually, the romulans gave the klingons the ability to cloak and the federation gave them warp drive, that was one of the main reasons why the prime directive was set into stone. Klingons were not ready.
