Unfortunately, this is an mmo which means its a grinding game in open matches. Do like nem said and pick up some people who want to enjoy it and private match it.
What I would propose is adding the ability to mark people so that you will never be teamed with them again, similar to the ignore function. But it would require a much more sophisticated queue system to handle that. What we have barely works as it is.
Defenders can try to manipulate me, but really, save your keyboard and move on.
I specifically mentioned Fleet alerts, and normal difficulty is what I addressed.
I don't take a weak ship into advanced and elite queues to troll players, they can keep their GODmode one shot miracle ships away from normal matches.
If Craptic can't give me the ability to enjoy gameplay, they can eat it.
Thankyou very much.
If you can't have fun without a reward, this tells me alot about the type of person you are. Does someone have to pay you in someway to attend parties, help family, educate others?
Your name spelling is indictive of your age group, putting you somewhere younger than my own son would be.
The fact you said yourself, "I don't think" is pure assumption on my gaming or life experience for that matter.
BTW your steam rating and 'private' profile tells me enough to know a non factor when I see it. So move along like a nice kid and look at all the flashing colors.
Stf's have only been mentioned in the fact they were the first to implement a leaver penalty, followed by the AFK penalty shortly after. Those two additions showed there were issues with the game and the player base.
Once you stop babbling and understand what is actually being discussed, perhaps you can add something relevant to the conversation. I haven't played an STF in over 5 years, so F* off with that ♥♥♥♥ immediately.
Read these words: I leave NORMAL - FLEET ALERT MATCHES - WHEN OVERPOWERED SHIPS ONE SHOT THE ENTIRE MAP! It's bad enough when the same happens on Tholian red alerts and the like, but those matches tend to last longer than 4 minutes (barely).
Please enlighten me on how I'm dissing the match, leaving players hanging, and generally being the bane of MMO's everywhere?
I'll be waiting, right here, for you to educate me.
Everything you've said is in total disregard for anything I've mentioned:
At first I thought you were having issues reading and comprehending. Now I see you are trolling me, otherwise the same ♥♥♥♥ wouldn't be pouring out of your mouth after I've been civil enough to try and explain specifics.
I've played since open BETA (kids these days) and the leaver penalty for ALL has only just been implemented (less than 2 weeks). This is my gripe, get over it.
If you hold Steam in such low regard, why are you here? Troll much?
An STF is a reputation match , but if you want to call a horse a car, be my guest, just don't expect everyone to get onboard with your lack of knowledge.
I play games like battlefront 2 just to shoot punks like you in the face - LOVE IT. (because I 'did born yesterday" O.o
I have now blocked you so, bye bye, have a merry xmas, and don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.
2. Enemies are usually around level 20 in your average pug Starbase 24 (which for purposes of this post will be the FA I've had experience with). Any non-terrible level 60 build should easily 1 or 2-shot most enemies in a level 20 queue. If you somehow feel this statement (about enemy level) is wrong, please provide proof in the form of a screenshot.
Most Fleet Actions I've participated in (see above Starbase 24) have had pretty low level enemies that are easy to 1-shot. I generally avoid the queues in general though.
3. I do agree with n3m's advice though. STO is an MMO, whether you sink or swim (or dislike/enjoy) a queue ultimately depends on your teammates. Your best bet is to find a decent group to queue with who doesn't mind taking things slow for the pure experience.
4. Post on the Arc forums if you actually want to be heard. They don't look at these forums (as evidenced by the continued non-banning of n3m).
I don't play SB24 anymore, the queue has been fairly empty for several years now since the addition of new content after PW took over. Also since they reworked it and removed the ground optional from it, I'm sure you remember.
And you mention fleet *(colony)* queues, that's nice, but never did them, so it's a non-issue.
Sorry everyone but you need facts. so here goes... again.
I ONLY PLAY SPACE FLEET RED ALERTS: after years with this 'cryptic' version of one of my favorite IP's, the direction and 'vision' of the devs isn't up to my par. Until another game is released using Star Trek, I had planned on continuing to log in, run my 5 capt.s thru the simple but somehow satisfying Fleet red alerts a few times ( about 1 1/2hour gameplay ) and move on.
But even the 'boring' low level fleet alerts still attract useless overpowered players to a match that breaks the balance so bad it's not funny. It's a travesty-if this were TV or a movie, no one would bother watching.
I don't want to watch, so I leave and find a match with normal ships, heck, better if there are low level players, because then it becomes a challenge, albeit only for under powered ships.
I didn't buy into the lastest brand' of power-creep I fly T5/T5-U with MK12 gear, same as before that crappy lvl increase which negated the true value of T5 tripacks but thats another story.
Finally: Since I only fly Fleet Red Alerts and have been doing the same thing for close to 2 years, I'm pretty sure I'd know when the leaver penalty FOR EVERY ♥♥♥♥♥♥ MAP was introduced.
It was less than a week from the OP date.
Been playing MMO's since, SWG, WOW, Lineage2, LOTRO, Age of Conan - must I go on.....? I know what an MMO is. Thanks guys
Btw Pavel, I don't expect the Devs to 'hear' or 'do' anything, regardless of where I post, but the fact you remove yourself from the equation by keeping your eliteness out of normalcy is most appreciated. =b d= (2 thumbs up).
Being said, there's not much they'd do about the leaver penalty if it affects one person's playstyle anyway.
