Is PVE dead?
Every time I try and do one of those PVE related quests, only 2-3 people are ever queuing and it's usually Starbase 24 every time. Is the gamy dying? It's rather annoying.

Oh yea, I will tell you how many dont get no 5k in ISA, cuz dey be stylin in their APU cruiser like myself y0! I got better sh!t to do than fly round like some dayum fool pewpew. ISA? ISA?! I pooped that stf out in the backseat of a star cruiser back in the day. Took 25 minutes to do back then due to lack of power steering.
BTW Does someone know if there is any servers in europe or is all servers located in Usa?
First off not many dpsler care that others do way less in stfs, and that they have to "carry" them.
The problem is more that those idiots fail objectives. Like BOSE hello fireteam, hello orion! or in DRSE they attack solo a group while not being able to finish it, and then one runs off and you cant find him, time ends, mission fail. If people wouldnt do stupid things that lead to objectives/complete mission failing then pug quees would be more used. Dying in krista wave ect.:Gohan:
The only STF I find "challenging" and "Fun" is running SB24 solo or with a small group (that 2nd phase can really catch one off-guard and lay down some DPS, if one is not prepared. Like, say, not paying attention to one's progress and using all of one's essential skills just prior to the phase swap, meaning none of the tank or escape skills are off cooldown and one's little Kazon Raider gets torn asunder) the rest are largely boring and/or frustrating. Not to mention the general malarky that is "pug" gameplay. It is astounding how little attention people give to what is going on around them. Multiple objectives? Naw, let's all group up and only cover one. *facedesk*

Blergh..
But if you do the dyson sphere there's usually quite a few players around that makes the whole event a little less grindy are the deep space encounters still around? if you do join a queue you can usually get into a fleet action soon enough. What is truly dead is PvP arenas even though you can get a decent bit of dilithium for completing 3 nobody is in the queues. Also found more often than not people struggle to complete days of doom because the dreadnought warp core dmgs the hull so you have to keep dropping it. Unless you have someone with a fast impulse drive & someone else to keep the npc's occupied seven times out of ten they won't complete the objectives. And only fairly well advanced intermediate players can get the perks on borg disconnected & procyon 5. Conversely the life of the Crystalline entity is a living hell since it gets obliterated in 30 seconds every 5 minutes by groups of ten players and that's it action over even so there are quite a few that I've never played because nobody was in the queues. I don't get it because you can't stump up 5 players for some of them but 10 players seem to like replaying that one over and over. but then I'm only a few days of ice racing away from getting the breen t6 from Q which is a far better reward than fleet actions anyway they are just handy for getitng a few reputation points if you just need a few of those to complete a thingy on that.

Remember when the crystalline entity could barely be beaten? There might be the same instance fighting it for hours. So much more fun and with no reward. Just another of those content moments they took from us. Because they always thought they knew more than the players. They torpedoed their own game to control us.
Another big drain on STF's is battle zones like Badlands and Dyson. Also you have Tholian and Borg red alerts going off that give out every possible mark for the daily bonus. Spam those and you don't have to STF at all.
so there is no european servers?

Most relevant comment of the day award goes too...

As far as I am aware, there are 2 servers. The test server and the live server. World-wide.
Holodeck (live), Tribble (test) and Red-Shirt (backup test, when something major is being tested on Tribble)

There are however two proxies (that I'm aware of) that route traffic to these servers. They can be set via commanline if need be (otherwise automatically used depending on region).

-setproxy
Europe eu1.proxy.crypticstudios.com 80
North America us1.proxy.crypticstudios.com 80

example: -setproxy eu1.proxy.crypticstudios.com 80

no there is only one server in the usa where everyone plays, the problem is all games from cryptic run on that so if ther have problems with one of there games it happens alot that other games are affected too.

You seem to be out of the game for a long time. Red Alerts changed a bit back. They are not more "red alerts". They became just another dumb queue. And no, you cant "spam" em. Because they have cooldown. And as i say you cant no longer click in the red alert button and go to the action instantly. That is no longer the case, so.

Also, no lol. The reason queues are empty is not because of battlezones. In fact, badlands is a terrible battlezone and the only reason so many people go there is because it is the ONLY way to get marks for 3 reputations beside the queues. So most people just go there to kill 3 birds in a row. If people have other choices and more variety of scenarios (for example, not just 1 single battlezone for 3 reputations, that is completely ridiculous but again, its cryptic they love to re-use again and again all the assets in game) they will probably start finding a reason to do queues, for example.

Actually I've played quite regularly and yes you can spam red alerts. Sure it's every 30 minutes but knock out a tholian red alert, knock out a borg, and knock out some time in the badlands and/or a CCA and you are rolling in bonus marks with a few hours play easy.

My point stands, you can easily get marks without having to queue more then a few quick stfs/red alert stfs and a battlezone or two. My AoY engie used them to level ships quick in a few hours easy over holiday while rolling in marks.

Dude, every 30 minutes you cant call that "spam". And mostly because as i said, they are queues. If you are not lucky you could be waiting for another 30 minutes until the queue starts (something that happens a lot these days). And "a few hours" of play is not something a regular common human being can play in this game. If you have all the time in the world and you love this game so much that you can play "for a few hours" every day without burning out, well good for you, but most players dont do that. And experienced players dont need most of the times, marks anymore.

And no, your point does not stand. Because you can go everywhere else and you can get more marks than just doing the dumb red alert queues in 30 minutes. The only reason red alerts were so friendly and fun was because you could just click and engage the red alert. Thats the only reason players played em. Nowadays, basically noone plays it (compared with before). Cryptic just broke em instead of improving em, as they usually do with all the things in the game.

Nobody plays them? Are you sure? Cause I've been playing them with a lot of other people joining them and have been racking up the marks for daily bonuses. See that's the key part you are missing, "DAILY BONUS" which is easy and fast to get for every rep from two red alerts.

Borg Red Alert
- Borg Rep marks + bonus if first run for the day
- Any rep marks + bonus if first for day.

Tholian Red Alert
- Any rep marks + bonus if first for the day.

My first run in a day i can rack up three reputations bonus mark rewards in less then 30 minutes. Throw a CCA on top of that and I can snag four. By the time I finish my first cooldown on a red alert is nearly complete and i can requeue again for lets say Borg again. Now I'm getting borg marks with no bonus but I can also pick a reputation I haven't chosen yet to get bonus marks from. Then when i'm done there the queue for the second red alert is up if not almost and I can get another repuations bonus marks before going back to CCA for fleet mark bonus.

Easy peasy bonus marks for the day and I don't have to run anything but the quick CCA and Borg STF's outside of the red alerts for dilithium mark farming. Effectively I can avoid other STFs and use battle zones to suplement marks for temporal, terran, undine, and dyson marks instead of STFs. Since I don't have to team up in battle zones like STFs, any loot that drops is mine to keep without rolls for others in the area so I get ECs as well.
