There are interiors but they're pretty useless and not particular pretty.
In the row of icons under your minimap, on the left croner there's a triangle. Press it and you'll see the option to go to your ship's bridge and invite other players to it. Most ships can change their bridges in the ship tailor but the rest of the interior is determined by your faction.

Yeah, I'll have to agree with n3mes1s on this one. All new bridges these days are just the bridge. You're stuck flying a faction ship if you want a bridge you can explore.

Near the minimap is a combo box, one of the choices let's you enter your bridge.
From there you can go to your personal room and there you can do a lot of Duty Officer quests from your computer.

You can also do duty officer missions from space and ground via the doff UI.

You can run around the ship, but aside from some ships (TOS Constitution for example) they tend to be samey. Which makes sense; there's not a lot to do INSIDE the ship as opposed to running around space, shooting other ships.
