/renderscale x (x being factor you want, wouldn't go above 2)
/Renderscale 2 @1080p would be 4k rendered
Why?
I usually play on my desktop @1440p and default UI size is fine (27" monitor). On my 4K laptop monitor however I have to bump it up to 1.5 otherwise it is way too small to see. (allthough the game runs about 20fps on 4K, so a bit academic)
And if you use /renderscale option the ui is also upscaled along with everything else so that's not an issue.
Performance drop however is a reason not to upscale. The game doesn't take advantage of current top end hardware particularly well; the game engine is too old.
If I change the interface scale all of it adjusts. Ui and texts.
Interface 1.0, which is far too small at 4K

Interface 1.5, is ok

Ohhh, now I see why you think it sucks. Your eyes don't work.
I can see a definite difference between the to UIs in just the thumbnails alone, but here's a convenient side-by-side just for you.

Still don't get your argument of "non real-time scaling fonts".
