First ship to buy in exchange

Hi , almost done level 60 and was thinking about buying a ship from exchange for trying something new , now i ve always choosen the cruiser version from the free ship mission maybe trying the escort or science ship will be intresting , can i buy something with like 3 milion EC? What did you suggest?

Also my characher is an vulcan engineer but i think it wont matter too much

Yeah, the standard Assault Cruiser cannot be upgraded. The C-store version can, however.

Cheapest blue lockbox ships can be upgraded to Tier 5U (for 700 Zen or 15 mil per upgrade token) cost about 2-3 million EC at the moment. So you could get something like the Nihydron Destroyer, Malon Battlecruiser or Kazon Raider. But yes, the upgrade is expensive. Stay away from anything that says "mirror", as those ships are stuck at T5 forever.

Cheapest purple ships that upgrade to T5U for free are ships like the Ferengi D'kora Marauder, Hirogen Escort and Temporal Science vessel right now, sitting at around 50-60 Million EC currently.

Buy what you can afford at the time. Mirror ships are alright to fly around in, if you have no other ships beside what you got from leveling up to captain. They do give you more ships to play with doing the Admiralty missions. And you can try other ships that you didn't get from leveling up. They will do till you can get a t5 and t6 from an event reward, free code giveaways or free ship from the store. Maybe you can join a guild that gives away free ships.

Very unlikely you will earn enough EC to buy the top ships on the exchange. Also, If you are a free to play account you have a credit cap. This game economy is too competative.

Yeah i know about the EC cap etc , as i said i will probably make 1 month sub just for unlocking the basic things.

Anyway im playing in super relaxed mode and i ve no hurry, i just finished all the episodes on my first char ( TOS Starfleet) taking around 150 h, probably i will try to take a look to romulian story too so the end game stuff will take their time i guess , anyway good to know i keep an eye on 31c multifaction ship if im going to have multiple faction toon..

with the soverign that you have you can clear any content,
having said that if you were going to spend money on the game i would reccomend the T6 arbiter battlecruiser, its a very powerful ship that turns a bit faster then the average crusier, it comes with a very good starship trait once its mastered to lvl 5

if you intend to play accross factions then the cronos dreadnought cruiser is a good choice as its cross fraction and a very good ship also

Erm, i thought ALL older lockbox ships had a FREE T5U upgrade. At least all my T5 ships were upgraded in that way.

Blue lockbox ships from the mirror universe were never upgradeable sadly. I would totally use a T5U mirror Vo'quv on my KDF side personally.

malon battlecriuser is your best bet because it's close to the TNG ship in terms of setup and it can be a decent ride for a couple of mil. thing is, you also need a ship upgrade token but you can save up your dilitium for that one.

what about this one?

you can upgrade this cruiser with a token too, and you can buy a token for around 15m EC from the exchange.
about getting more EC, try to farm Omega Sliver/Shard/Fragments as long as it still is possible, and sell them on the exchange.
or bank them for now, and sell them later hopefully for even more EC...

and keep an eye on the calendar, check which events are running/planed, and see what you can farm/sell during them.

I just dont buy packs that cant be customized between em. Its a waste of money.

That's fine but I did not put the video to meet your expectations. The video is for the OP who now has to face the decision to use what he likes or fall in the power creep.

Cross faction bundles tend to be either a single ship for each of the three for the same price as the 31c one or 3 pretty much identical ships for each faction for at least double the cost.

The 31c temporal ships are a decent value proposition if you have alts straddling the three in some way.
