nude mods for star trek online

i seen a few people that came out with some. i got concerns on usering them.

are they against the TOS and are they free to use without braking any TOS rules. I know there client side only. also are they macro's/hacks which are against the TOS

Gonna chime in here, yes it is against the TOS, but no, unless you let people know you're running a client side mod, gennerally nobody will know, similar to the mods for Tera that uncensor the Elins, or the mods for Phantasy Star Online 2 that translate the client, items, and the like, this isn't something new, or unusual. If you happen to find some though, just don't go around advertising, or showing your mod off, as even a single screenshot might have your account banned permently.

2. I usually agree with nemmy that the game is absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (In some aspects, never 100% agreement tho) but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nemmy you could not be any more wrong.

Every MMO ever, in existance, ever, has a nude mod, or hell even several. I mean hell, the STO nude mod is currently still being actively devolped and updated and plenty of people use it.

Tera has them, though alot are focused at the uncenscorment of our loli overlords the Elins, Black Desert Online has tons, SWTOR has tons, I think I even saw WoW had one at one point, and every nude mod has a major following. Unless you specifically tell people you have a mod on, no one will ever know. I mean for fraks sake, I used the tera uncenscorment patches, and I use STO's nude mod (I have for awhile), neither game I have faced any major reprecussions. Mods are against the TOS yes but no one has any way of knowing if you use a cosmetic changing mod.

n3mes1s you wrong :) Cause i using it and none see it what mods i did on my charecter in the game . So think twice before you says anything ... i am in the clans with my groups team on the game i did answer What skin and what cloth and tatto i got on my charecter . my team said he see my charecter by default inside the game and me on my pc are mods and edited .... n3mes1s you lose i win :) bye bye . either each my team did give screenshoot the true thing are yes . what you have on yur pc as mods run only on your pc not inside the server

Again, it's a massive security flaw to allow user-run scripts on a server. Even n3mes1s should know that.

Sorry to break your bubble, but thats not the case. This is a mmorpg, so, everything you see on the screen (your local data) is also shared with the main server. Thats the only reason other players can see you and you can see other players. If you change something , others players will see that because they "downloaded" that data only to see it on the screen. Imagine like a p2p system, where everybody is sharing data between everyone.

And yes, you could be banned for life for this. Not gonna happen because cryptic honestly dont give a f1c about the overall quality of this game, but it could happen. Keep that in mind.

To be fair, smoochy, you can get banned for using mods. It's the fact that Cryptic just doesn't really care that keeps people from being banned (as n3mes1s said).

Mods are against the TOS (but like many other things, Cryptic doesn't care to do much about them).

Either way, STO is not peer-to-peer like other heavily-instanced games are (like Warframe). So your argument is moot n3mes1s.

Shrug.. not my problem . you all can think many thing you want . many player using mod are not banned he pay the game with real money to get zen or ship or watever anything eles. if the game start ban people when paying the game for many time . lose money lose server. not sure will ban but nude mods are not tolorare that for i know i not using that . I don't think mods are shared across clients (otherwise it would be an issue). That's what n3mes1s thinks. I was just noting that because Cryptic hasn't done anything yet doesn't mean you're safe.

Because obviously you are not going to download the content as you play, that will be insane. That doesnt mean you can make a character and make it "live" without being in sync with the server. That is impossible, for STO and for any mmorpg.

Sure, there is stuff in your end that you can modify but that "stuff" is going to try to sync with the server sooner or later. Its the way it works.

My god hell has frozen over, as for once I agree with Nemesis here. The download is beacuse this is not a browser game, you need to have the files to play the game on your local drive, just everything as you are playing is synced with the server.

Honestly it kinda weirds me out that there would be this in existance anyways, honest what purpose does it serve other that to sexualize immature players such as Captain Ricco, as he has already made sexually explicit comments about clothed NPCs.

I accept nudity when it is appropiate, or in real life, but this is a bunch of CGI characters doing a job, there is no need for nudity in STO.

The idea is the server tells the client what to display. Like if another player Tac Teams your ship, you and the other player will see the Tac Team visual and buff icon.

But if you changed the Tac Team icon (or removed it, for example), you would see your modified file, but the other player would still see the normal Tac Team visual.

You actions are sent to the server, your client just renders whatever the server tells it to. Nothing more, nothing less. If you have modified files it'll just use those instead of the normal files you download when patching.

Although I'm surprised there's no checksum mechanism in STO - usually that's an MMO thing.

Let me explain. Server cant handle doing every miniscule detail. Server tells your computer what graphics to show, your comp shows it. If you modified it, your comp will still show it, and server will be sent imputs such as graphics load complete, not modified graphics file accessed. Besides, a heavily p2w game like this, moderating graphics changes is too pricy for them, using time and money(wages) to remove a possible COSTUMER(rimshot) from the game.

STO Is not Pay to Win in the least, it is pay for convience of not having to work your ass off, but not pay to win, as you can be successful in most of the game without paying a cent, hell you can use dilithium to get premium currency at a reasonable rate now....
