How to kill Brax?
I read on a wiki if you steal from him he goes hostile on you and summons a minion to fight. I equipped/stashed all his wares without paying. Now he just blocks the entrance. Am I stuck?

In my opinion, the best way to anger Brax and steal is stuff is to use a teleportation spell/skill and get the heck outta dodge, but you can also trigger it by using an AOE attack on him or any spell... pretty much anything that isn't normal melee.

Be careful though, on lower levels they deal a considerable (i.e. fatal) amount of damage and, well.... you'll see what I mean with the minions. Good luck! :D

if you look in the modding forums on steam, you can download some mods. i downloaded the "wind magic" mod, got every skill, and on one of the levels, accidentally killed Brax (and P0wn3d all the Dread Collectors that came after me) with the final skill. what an experience!

If Brax is blocking your way because you took his stuff, but don't want to fight him, you can also just place his stuff back onto the pedestals. Once you're no longer holding any stolen items, he'll move back onto his little carpet and you're free to go!

If you do want to fight Brax, make sure you have good equipment or spells, and keep your distance, esp. on Dwarvish Moderation and Going Rogue.

Oops. I didn't realize you can place the items back. Haha. It was a short struggle.

Brax is only tough on early levels. As you get stronger, he'll become fairly easy to beat. The main issue isn't Brax, but the "Dread Collectors", who will gradually swarm you. What I suggest is that if you find that a shop has an item or two that is too good to pass up and you cannot afford to purchase it...
1. Clear the level first Don't leave any quests or monster zoos or anything else that you want to finish undone on that level. So long as there is a living Brax on that level, Dread Collectors can continue to spawn on it, so you will undoubtedly not want to return.
2. Make sure that you know the best path to escape to the next level. Sometimes this is through a teleportal.
3. Make sure you have the means to get past lots of tough enemies to that escape path. Ideally, that means that you have some kind of movement skill such as from Burglary or Dodge or Mathemagics. Less than ideally, you have the means to kill the crapload of Dread Collectors
without dying that will inevitably block your path.
4. It also is very nice if you have a means of turning invisible, either through the Burglary skill or sufficient potions of invisibility and/or Inky Hoglanterns. Note that even while invisible, the Dread Collectors will be a big pain in your butt as they have a tendency to clog the hallways making it difficult to move in whatever direction you need to go.

The ideal skillset for stealing from Brax is Burglary, since it gives you both a teleport and invisibiilty. But Alchemy or Fungal Arts + Dodge or Mathemagics will also work. Or just having sufficient invisibility potions through luck and conservation and being able to kill Brax will be enough as well. He's not particularly tough, but for a low-level player, he will be.

ehh not really hard to steal from brax after a certian point even the dredcollectors just become free exp xD 95% of the time there attacks either get blocked or countered

The werediggle skill "Mighty Auger" lets you burrow through walls. Which is another way to slip past Brax if he's blocking your path.
