But in general the overwhelming number of dailies just reset 20 hours after you did them (to make the confusion complete, some like vigilance start counting their cooldown from the moment you TOOK the quest not finished it.... YES CO is very coherent....)
Mission reset is also every 20 hours, but it's determined by when you pick up a mission rather than on the global timer. This applies to event missions and most daily alerts, adventure packs, and serial missions. The mission Vigilance has a week-long cooldown as opposed to most others' 20 hours.
Certain missions are tied to global reset, like Alert and Cosmic Threat missions. These will cycle on the global reset and are not affected by what you currently have. However, you can't take the mission they have if it is currently one you already have. You can complete that mission and take it again though. (For example, you can take the Grabs mission, leave it sitting for a few days, then complete 3 grabs, turn it in, and you'll be able to take the mission again if the daily is Grabs.)
For Missions, there is a Cooldown tab that will display a timer for how much longer you have to wait to take a mission again. It would be nice if some day the global timer would be added to this tab, but as it is, it's still useful for stuff like seeing when you can do OV or Serial missions again.
