Upgrading a Silver AT to Freeform slot
Hey guys! I've been playing this game for a while and was wondering if it's possible to upgrade an archetype to freeform forever? I know a way to do this is by subbing to Gold, but what happens if the sub runs out? Does that mean your freeform slot reverts back to an archetype?

I also was able to procure a few freeform slots when CO did that little Freeform grab bag thing a few years ago, so it seems like Silvers are able to play freeforms. Is it possible to upgrade an archetype to this type of freeform slot where it doesn't require a sub? Also what are the limitations of this "free" freeform?

Thanks!

I don't think you can upgrade an existing free AT to a Freeform, as buying the Freeform from store give you a new freeform character slot. But maybe subscribing is different. When the sub runs out you have to convert your characters back to a AT to play them.

Oh, I see. I wanted to re-do my character as a freeform without subbing, but I suppose I could just re-make him with the same costumes and name-change him later.

Difference between the Freeform slot and actual freeform is pretty quick and easy
1. they're seperate character slots. Unlock the normal freeform you can't turn a previously existing character into a freeform. It's an entirely different slot.
2. No power customization. While you can choose any power, you can't customize them. I.E. you can't change the starting point (Fist, Palm, Chest, Ect) the power hue, and in the case of pets, the skin

Awesome, thanks!

I changed my old character to Automaton, so I would have a 40 automaton and unlock his powers for the FreeFrom, and start the game anew with the freeform.

Could you explain that further? I don't think I know about that, and that seems promising!

You get it when any of your character's reach lvl 40
Playing the Automaton all the way to 40 just unlocks a couple mediocre power choices for Freeforms

Ah, so it's not an alternative way to turn an archetype into freeform. Hm, I'll still look into it out of curiosity.

If CO didn't give a free slot by hitting 40 while Gold, I would have deleted my automation. I only did it to 40 for the unlocking of powers. Actually, mainly rocket punch because it fit a FF character theme I had. But once I got it to 40, I haven't used it since.

Not sure if this question was really answered. But when you sub, you can convert your AT's to FF or make them Gold AT's which are some AT's you don't have as a free player. But if you sub runs out, you will have to convert them back to silver AT or they will be locked from playing until you sub again.
