Wanting to Return. What's There To Do?

Hey Heroes, all criticisms aside I do have a special place in my heart for this game and wanna come back but I left off at a somewhat scary place to come back, max level.

I have other heroes I could level up but was wondering what content there is I should do with my max? Is it worth it to clean up quests I haven't finished? Are max guides online still relevant? What is the top gear grind like? Are there multiple top gears for playstyles or typically a best in slot for DPS/Tank/Support?

I enjoy just the gameplay loop but wouldn't mind working towards something or having challenges with my max level character.

Also if anyone wants to play add me. Can't commit much time but am down for some casualish sessions.

Basically, endgame is content that awards Silver and especially Gold Champion Recognition. You'll need this to get the top tier of gear, as well as useful mods, power unlocks, etc. Cosmics, Therakiel's Temple, Teleios Ascendant, Qliphothic Warzone. Rampage to get the tokens for Justice gear (if you're going for Justice).

Is it worth it to clean up quests I haven't finished?

Aside from wanting to finish the story or get perks and achievements, not really.

Are max guides online still relevant?

From the past 5 years or so, yes. Older than that, likely not. Pre-On Alert (2012), completely irrelevant.

What is the top gear grind like?

Surprisingly smooth, for an MMO. If you do Cosmics consistently you could be looking at a set of top tier gear in a few weeks.

Are there multiple top gears for playstyles or typically a best in slot for DPS/Tank/Support?

Justice for DPS, Distinguished for tanks, Virtuous for healers (and I guess most support builds). There's some occasional debate like somebody will say Virtuous is actually better for tanks, but those are how they're intended.
For secondaries you're looking at either Cosmic (drops pretty frequently from... cosmics) or Onslaught. (It's this kind of wonky PvP thing that's a whole other kettle of fish... Anyway, the Onslaught gloves are generally considered best in slot for tanks.) There's some newer gear from Eidolon that seems to benefit builds with an Ultimate, not sure what the consensus on that is yet.

You're welcome! Yes, that guide is still good. I think the only newer thing it's missing is the Serial, which is a good source of SCR, Questionite and some unique rewards (see Ladyhawke on the Ravenswood campus).

One thing I thought to add later, if you haven't finished the Vibora Bay Crisis missions you may want to complete those, it opens access to Vibora Bay itself and the daily for Therakiel's Temple.
