Equipment Question

I am currently using Heroic Equipment as my primary and Armadillo as my secondary.
Is this info i got outdated now and should i replace the Heroic with Mercenary.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Mercenary certainly isn't an upgrade from Heroic, it's starter gear if anything. Consider upgrading to Justice (/Distinguished/Virtuous depending on role) sooner or later. Legion used to be better than Heroic, but I believe the lack of a set bonus has put it behind.
Also consider Onslaught or Cosmic for secondary.

Do note that Justice/Onslaught/Cosmic level gear requires farming of various end game content (and a bit of luck with J/D/V) to get a full set of. Which is appropriate as those sets are the best in the game at this time.

Legion offers a bit more customization than Heroic, but the set bonus of Heroic may be better.

that was what i was thinking as loseing the +5 to all stats if you do away with the Heroic set was
a little to much to think about switching to the mercenary set.
As far as onslaught i actually did my first onslaught villian as medusa,I haven't tried the Onslaught villians before as i'm not a pvp player but it seems i might enjoy it,not the pvp part but doing the dailys and fighting the super villians.

I forgot about Valiant from the newer lockboxes, that's... maybe a sidegrade or a very slight step up from Heroic. Maybe better for tanks with the bonus health. Can be bought on the Auction Exchange, if the piece you actually need shows up.

Justice: DPS
Distinguished: Tank
Virtuous: Healer

There's occasionally some debate about Virtuous being better for tanks or something like that, but that's basically how they're intended.

main gear endgame:
justice gear, Distinguished gear, Virtuous gear
( these can be found on the silver/gold recognition vendor

secondary gear end game:
Onslaught gear - can find on the onslaught villain vendor
Cosmic gear - can be found on the gold/silver recognition vendor (or in some cases do drop from the end game bosses, if you're lucky)

eidolon secondary gear that can slot rank 9 mods - these do only drop from eidolon in QWZ for now, but the drop rate for them are low, so i don't except them to drop instantly for you, you might have to farm for that set and if you do get that set, it's only good if you equip all 3 pieces of that set, otherwise you won't get the set bonus from that eidolon secondary set

there are three types of variants of the eidolon set:
(keep in mind that this set works best with ultimate powers since it reduces your cooldown on ultimate powers by 2 seconds every 5 seconds you use an attack(depends on what type of variant of the set you use)

Charge up attack combo variant - every time you use a charge up attack power it reduces your cooldown on ultimate power

Melee combo bonus variant - every time you use a combo attack power it reduces your cooldown on ultimate power

maintain attack bonus variant - every time you use a maintain attack power it reduces your cooldown on ultimate power

3 pieces: gives
+1000 HP |
+50 all super stats( the 3 stats that you picked) |
Reduces the cooldown on your ultimate power by 2 seconds, when you
(fully maintain a power/ use a charge up attack/ use a combo attack(this may depend on what set bonus you use)
