is the RP scene still alive? or has it finally died? (answered)

last time i was on here CORP (Champions Online RolePlaying) was dwindling in number and the cumminty in game RPed in their own gated communities.

is that still the case or is it finally dead? not giving myself hope for the scene it be revitalized since this game isn't being given any meaningful updates.

i had a chance encounter with someone in game and apparently the RP scene is really dead.

any RP is just ERP (erotic roleplaying) but its nothing but that, but not even that, its SUPER horrid stuff like underage stuff.

meanwhile CORP (for anyone who remembers what that use to mean) is just a circle jerk of ERP and people complaining about anything they deem bad RP.

and as i understand the only things that have changed is the powers, very slowly the powers have been getting revamped and there are only 3 devs on the game also any new bosses have really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game design where an energy builder will screw over the entire group

I hate to break it to you, salty RPers have been saying that for longer than free to play

and? im just saying my question has been answered as i learned whats happened.

last time i was on real RP was barely alive, was part of a magic focused SG and had some fun with it but a lot of events didn't really workout but some did (rp events i mean)

now coming back (due to needing some screens of my characters and saying "what the heck why not play for a bit, i have just redownloaded it") i wanted to know what has become of the RP scene after 2 years or so.

and thus i have learned, doesn't matter if its from salty RPers or not, im part of the old player base when CORP was still a community of real RPers so if anything a salty RPer is what i need to tell me whats happened.

not to mention the lack of any SGs in the menu, NON have RP tags in them at all

Have crossed a RP SG in game two weeks ago but dont recall their name... I've just sold some stuff to hero and he told me that finaly he can roleplay with his wizard with this TP that heve bought.
Ive wondered a bit about it and he said that he's part of SG for Role players making "events" "scenarios" this stuff.
So hope it helps to know that there is a SG of roleplayers somewhere in CO world.

they probably are the last as i said in my previous comment the SG list can't find any SGs that advertise themselves as RP guilds, perhaps its just that ERP is so rampant that SGs that do true RP are hiding the fact they do to prevent the ERPers from trying to join and stick their futa demi-god dongs in peoples faces

Well, if you're all that worried about it being dead, revive it, don't sit and wait for others to do it for you, chances are you're not the only one looking for it. I roleplay here and there, but I've never had any desire to dedicate myself to it.

Also, just to make a note on your horrid example above, I'd much rather they get off here then go find the real thing, better for everyone that way, though it'd be nice if they did it somewhere private.

i See your point but its not just myself that can do it, it would have to be a group effort, plus people need to shake off the NPC syndrome, that was a big problem last tie i was on, about 2 years ago.

second is that the RP scene being dead is a secondary syndrome of the games upkeep as a whole plus the game not being RP friendly in terms of locations people can go to.

they are not that obvious, not making excuses, just stating the problems.

i would LOVE to revive the scene as i have some of my best RP memories here, but i can't do it alone and the CORP people won't help ether cause they are a bunch of delusion saps who are circle jerking about bad RP and doing ERP

I think that you have to spend some time in rencen and really investigate which SG doing RP if Ive found one just by selling stuff probably there are others that are working like some kind of private club sg that you can enter only if you know a hero who can introduce you or where to ask.
If you are motivated you can really start small with just one hero or two who are motivated like you then go up.
I mean even a journey with thousand miles starts with a single step ;)

that maybe so, however when the game litterally only has a little over 300 people in it if THAT with the majority of RP people doing desgusting ERP or just reguler ERP its a scene that can't be revived.

not until CO gets a larger player base, which won't happen unless perfect world decides to pay attention to this game for some reason, but perfect world is a chinese company so that's not going to happen, crappy games with nothing but pay to win toolboxes is their forte over there, because mobile is the primary market for games.

however i did hear that the one of the 3 devs has been working on revamping the powers little by little to be good, like feral was trash until the changes.


honestly to really get a jump in players the game needs multiple wow style expantions work of content and some marketing for the superhero stuff and more focus on that then just it being a costume dump.

i mean even with the pay to win lootboxes things like neverwinter and star trek are going strong.

but i digress, the point im making is that i probably could given a few years, revive the scene, but the scene needs people to do it, with most being horny bastards a real RP scene can't happen.

what your saying is that i should try and find a guild thats still doing real super hero RP by finding someone in the guild and asking to join the exclusive club they have and call THAT the scene, hoping against hope that people will join back on so we can start to get a real community going again.

thats an impossiblity with the current state of the game and its going to stay like that forever until perfect world decide to throw more money at it and get a real team together to work on it instead of having 3 devs working on it, one of them being relatively new to the dev team but was a former player so knows how the player side of things works.


if i start to see that the zombie state of the game is reverting then i'll consider this.

after all during my hay day of this game i was Odin Taragosh, Military high commander of the island nation goverened by the Black Guard, a SG that was designed to shake up the RP community when it was still strong.

however you can't build something with rotten and non existent resources.
