So, I'm making a plant based hero!
Hi everyone!

I have been playing for a while, and I have this idea for a plant based superhero for the longest time.
As there isn't really an AT, nor plant powers for that matter, I decided to buy a freeform slot and give it a try, using imagination and abusing the power tinting :P

I'm thinking along the lines of a pseudo-melee tank support.

The thing is, as much as I want to keep it close to the theme, I would like it to be functional.

Here is a link for the build I made in Hero Creator, if you could look at it and tell me your opinions and suggestions, I'd be grateful :)

Build is here [aesica.net]

I could switch Unbreakable with Resurgence, but the former I see it as creating an extra layer of bark, so it kinda fits the theme more... I think xD

And I will be working to get a Supernatural Possession device, to have another control and partyheal.

Thanks in advance!

TL;DR: I'm making a plant themed pseudo-melee tank support, wanting it to be functional. Opinions? Build is here [aesica.net]

I tried making a plant hero before, but didn't get close enough to statisfy me.
Still hoping that one day, some new dev will bring with him the time to make a new power set again - before inevitably getting drafted to Neverwinter...

Anyway, while I'm no expert on builds, I see a few flaws with yours.
First off; it's a regen tank. Those are hardly usable anymore, since bosses outside of story missions just deal too much damage to outheal. You can't get more than an offtank with Regeneration.
Then you have Challenge on a lot more powers than it needs to be. Putting it only on your most used power is enough and saves you a few AP.
And you have Telepathic Reverbration, even though the only power than can trigger it is Ego Sprites. Better switch it out for Mephtic, because you are going to apply poison a lot more often with this build.

Thanks for the answer!
I know what you mean.. I will never stop hoping for a plant powerset

Yeah, I didn't think it would cut it as an MT, will be more for playing casually with a friend. That's why I focused mostly on theme. Although I believed that with Ego Spritess and Grasping Shadows' healing, Regen could work better.

Thanks! I shall save those APs for more useful things.

And thanks again! Don't know why my mind took Grasping Shadows as a telephath power :x my bad.

Do you (or someone else) know if Smoke Bomb can be used on another player so s/he could loose aggro?
Been thinking on dropping Aggressor to add more utility and flavor (Smoke Bomb = spores, or Grappling Gun Pull = vines)

No, Smoke Bomb and other threat wipes and placates only work for yourself.
Trip Wire could stand in for a vine pull.

Thanks! Will check it out :3
The frustration out of making themed character, is to realize that the raids/alerts enemies are so strong that will make you feel that you mess up your build.
I can only assume that devs have being long buffing enemies cause they prioritize to make the game challenging fo the people that don't bother to make themes, but the most effective build.

Well, can't really say I know much of the endgame of CO.... I have been playing on and off for some years (since it went free, actually), and recently got really hooked, and got the chance to charge some zen xD
This will be my first Freeform, so I don't know what I'm getting into.

That said, isn't making the game challenging something every dev do, on every game?
I mean, even when games raise the lvl cap they are kinda saying "look, it's harder now, here are some extra lvls, you NEED them"

Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked... back on topic!

I find that searching for a balance between theme and function is half the fun, that's why I love games that allow a great deal of character customization.
And never bother min/maxing for optimization, that's boring and usually pretty simple/easy... I prefer a challenge :P

Here [aesica.net] is the build so far, as suggested I removed many of the challenge! advantages and got Mephitic.
Also replaced Agressor with Trip Wire for more utility (like pulling in any stray mob attacking team members).

I may not know what I'm doing, but I kinda feel confident that this will work, or that it is at least on the right path.
Hopeful it will be fun to play with.

Any opinion and/or advice? the more feedback, the better :3
Thanks!
