If any of you think a lifetime subscription for a game that's over ten years old is worth it, you're absolutely insane. The zen store alone should be criminal. $30 to make ONE character slot freeform? I bought the game when it first came out and I don't even have a freeform slot and there's no way to get one without basically buying the game again, or spending hundreds of dollars on a "lifetime subscription" to a game that is already on its way out the door after over ten years. No real perks for someone who purchased the game. I haven't played it in years, but I came back to it a couple weeks ago and what I've seen in the zen store is at the very least predatory and should be criminal. Cryptic has always been pretty bad with their cash shops with STO, but what they've done in the last year or two should be illegal. The -only- way they could make the lifetime subscription worth it is to make the rewards retroactive going back several years. Do NOT waste your money on this game, but do enjoy what you can out of it without spending money.

You ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ completely destroyed this game and just use predatory tactics now to milk the remaining player base. Take your freeform slots and shove it up your clacker.

I can no longer get a free character at level 40? I guess the lifetime sub is kind of worthless now. I have to buy more slots.... On the bright side there is nothing in the Z Store to buy but character slots so it isn't so worthless. XD

lifetimer: 100 zen for a charslot that can have a freeform char
non-lifer: 3000 zen for a FF-slot

I can......the idiots that are still acting like buying a FF slot is worth it are dumb as ♥♥♥♥. This company is complete trash and doesn't give one damn about their player base except to soak up as much money from them as they can before dipping out. I bet when this does finally shut down, there won't even be any warning. They will allow people to still buy FF and lifetime right up until they shut the servers off. If you think they won't then I have a FF bridge to sell you.

I know I'm stating the obvious, but there's no way a lifetime sub is worth this price for a game this old.
MAYBE if the lifetime sub was for ALL of their older games like this, but definitely not for CO by itself.
The scary part is I'm sure people are still buying it anyway.

lifetime is a joke because like this game they all go downhill, till you basically only have the lifers all doing some weird pvp/pve orgy, basically; oh aren't we the cat's meow, lol
same for every game, only the diehards remain, whacking each other on the head
. and for a newb to come in, forget about it, janky gameplay, mechanics, laughable; ancient graphics, animations.... smhwonder

Wow, I was literally just patching out of a tinge of nostalgia but I think I'm just going to close it and go ♥♥♥♥ around on CoH:Homecoming instead. Hostile monetization is a really ♥♥♥♥ business model.

if you think this monetization is bad, try out Diablo Immortal, this have the worst p2w and monetization predatory than you ever see in the entire life of gaming in only one game, this one is bad, but Diablo Immortal is the true example of what hell is really is. lol
