"slot mod in upgrade?"

hey all feel kinda dumb for asking but will anyways - doing the training quest for mods and fusion and just fused the mod. now the next step on mission is "slot mod in upgrade" and its got me kinda confused. im sure im just overlooking something simple but can anyone help me out?

Have you received equipment from completing missions?
One or more of them should have a little hole on the bottom of it.
You can mod items, ie, upgrades, with those holes.
If you haven't gotten an item yet, don't worry about it, you'll do it later and the mission will complete.

drag the item with the little hole (if you havent sold it) into the small slot at the left side of your inventory (same area you dragged the mod to fuse it), that opens a small screen were you are shown the mod-slots of the item, drag the mod into the slot.

okay im only level 7 I dont have any slottable equipment but im sure ill pick some up soon thanks guys!

You get that quest when you get an item with a slot. So you should have had one.

ahh i see ill take a closer look since i havent sold anything

No you get the quest before you have the slotted item. You can buy slotted items in the auctionhouse or if you are in a super group some might be in the bank, or you might have other characters with a slotted items in your house bank...that's why you get the mission earlier.
Pretty sure you get slotted items from Westside mission that come from that reporter by the comic book shop, right about level 13 or 14.

You get a secondary with a slot pretty early on as a mission reward for one of the purple gang missions from Kodiak.

I had this same issue. After you make the mod, ensure you have equipped all of the equipment you've earned from previous mission (Namely those from the purple gang). The when the training mission asks that you slot your mod, open you character panel and mouse over your gloves (or other items) one of the pop-up description windows will have the note "Hold Ctrl and Right Click to Upgrade". Do that and slide your mod to the window.
