I also target different weak mobs in my forward arc with different beams when my vanilla Avalanche (not enough points) isn't enough to kill them all.
Personally, I like the new Assault Rifle (munitions). Mobile Linear AoE. Maintain, move, sit / alternate with Gatling Gun. Move, maintain and sit again, depending on the shape of the mob blob.

IDK about you, but the ATs are "okay" (not great) but as starting seeds for a framework, they are good. You learn from how an AT is built, then you branch out to other powers as needed (using FF).
Trying to run before you walk is probably why you have a mess of four un-desired FF slots.
Talo Takedown is almost impossible alone (unless you are a tank) early on.
If you are being ignored in Zone, there's probably a reason that may be beyond simply sh!t-posting.
