(Act 4 Spoilers) How to recruit a certain someone
Already finished the game, it was fun, but how do you make Pompeius join your revolution? I got Cato and Cicero to join and had Corvinus killed.

It is Act 4. I don't think you can. I see in the video play through that Pompei brought 10 legions against your main character after she/he declared herself/himself dictator for life. But if there is a way, Im eager to also know how.

In my first playthrough I recruited every optional ally in chapter 4 except Corvinus. I could have recruited Corvinus as well, but his death from hands of Julia seemed too comical to reload.:lunar2019grinningpig:
I sent Bestia to recruit Pompeius.

You can recruit Pompeius? That is nice.

Yeah, but it feels pointless, since in ending he still does that thing with 10 legions.

Maybe he is ok to kill Lurco, and crossing the Rubicon to kill Lurco and then restore the republic, but not ok for you to be king.

I went with Julia to kill Corvinus, Bestia to recruit Pompeius and Syneros to recruit Cato and Cicero. The dialogue choices are pretty straightforward imo.

tbh, I was leaning towards killing him anyway since I figured a guy in command of 4 legions would be more trouble than he was worth, especially since he pulled the same ♥♥♥♥ with Caesar in history. Why recruit him when instead you can just kill him and take command of his legions?

For roleplay purposes? If you're playing the Good Guy TM, you might want to avoid killing people that are not really your enemies.

That is true, though its really hard to be a Good Guy TM in this game since the whole premise is you conquering nations under the roman boot.

No the premise is you really waging war of defense. For real. Lets look:
1. Asia Minor . Kick out an invading country from Roman land. No mentioned of how Asia Minor became roman.
2. Egypt after an assassination attempt on an important Roman official, you hunt down the killer, and stop Egypt from descending in a civil war(that will stop the Egypt grain from coming to Rome). In the course of the game you could annex the country(because no one will be able to run it, to prevent chaos, because the people want it), but not necessary , and a good play through can put Cleo on a stable Egypt. While trying and failing to stop the bad guy Lurco.
3. Gaul. Gaul invades and kills some roman civilians(pulls a 9/11), but even then with great reluctance Roman Senate authorizes the counter invasion of Gaul to hunt the responsible tribe. Negotiation fail with every Gaul tribe through no fault of you, or Rome, but you manage to semi-peacefully conquer Gaul. And you get enough evidence to put the warmongering Lurco(the person responsible for both Rome attack and for the war with Gaul) on the cross when you return back to Rome.
This game Rome and Gaul are remarkable peace loving and nice in comparison with the historic reality.
So realy you can play as a nice, peace loving roman without any problems in this game.
