Marrying Calida Question(Possible Spoilers)

I'm just recently returning to the game so I have sketchy memory on some issues.

I remember that even though I was not romancing Calida, an option to propose to her was available as a way of getting her out of her legal entanglements. Since I was romancing the warrior woman I did not select it but I am considering doing do this time around, while still focusing on the other chick as my "real" romance.

So? Can it be done purely for political/legal purposes, while still romancing Daeineira?

I have never personally tried it. I know it's possible to claim either Calida or Deianeira despite romancing Cleopatra too. Since both Calida and Deianera are not available at the time in the Rome when Cleopatra would visit.

You can try for yourself to see if what you're asking is possible.

The "points" collected from all the heart dialogue options determines which companion will enable the first random travel event where you can choose in what direction you'll take your relationship. Once you cement your romantic relationship, then you've selected your partner until the end and you can't change that either.

If you still get the option to propose marriage with Calida for practicality then it wouldn't surprise me it's possible since the developers have put great deal of thought into this game.
