Main character not in party?

I'm trying to do the mission Pacification: Beach Village, and my main character does not seem to be available to the party in the instance. What's going on? Not injured.

That's how it is. For Pacification missions you have to choose one of your companions to lead and fill the rest with your hired praetorians.

Shirley, can't expect the Legatus to do errything themselves, can you? :)

Make sure you develop your praetorian guard and give them good equipment. You might have to depend on them in random events. And city sieges, for example, will have several squads of 4 or more taking different routes into the city.
